Bedford are well-known for manufacturing iconic British vans in the last century, but the first incarnation of the Bedford was actually manufactured in Brazil and made with Canadian parts. In 1925 GM bought out Vauxhall Motors and production moved to Vauxhallâs headquarters in Luton in 1929. From the 1930s onwards the company, which still used the Chevrolet moniker, produced several different models of vehicles, including ambulances, lorries and vans. In 1931 the Chevrolet name was dropped in favour of Bedford and the company became most famous for its âBedford Busâ.
