The 80s was a fantastic decade for music of all kinds, but there were some notable rock albums produced in the decade.
The band Guns NâRoses, which was started in 1985 by Axl Rose, is still one of the most successful rock bands in the pop culture. Over time they have sold more than 100 million albums and hit the charts with songs like âSweet child oâ mineâ.
b. Metallica formed in Los Angeles in 1981. The band is well known for The Black Album and, throughout the years, they have won nine Grammy Awards. Furthermore, they are the first band to have the accolade of five albums debut at the top of the pop charts in the USA.
Iron Maiden came together as band in 1975 but it was the decade of the 80s that brought it most success. Formed by UK artist Steve Shaw, the band is still a best-seller and has sold at the last count in excess of 86 million albums. One of the bandâs most popular albums was launched in 1982, called The Number of the Beast, which achieved platinum level in the USA.
d. The Cure, well known for their album, Three Imaginary Boys, were formed in 1976. However, it was not until the 80s â with the post-punk era kicking in â their popularity began to rise. Their fresh 1982 single, Letâs go to bed, was a big hit during that year and has given them everlasting success in the music business.
