About Alex Ferguson

Not many people in the world stay true to what they do through decades and also do it with success. Sir Alexander Chapman Ferguson, widely known as Alex Ferguson, is one of such people as he has been the manager of Manchester United since 1986. As Manchester United has enjoyed dominance and winning matches both in England and Europe under his rule, Ferguson is considered to be one of the best managers there have ever been since football was invented. Ferguson holds many records as well as awards for his effective work and he has been repeatedly appointed the Manager of the Year. Under his considerate command, Manchester United has also won the European Cup on more than one occasion. A few people know that before starting a productive manager career, Ferguson himself also played in various Scottish clubs where he mainly figured as a striker. However, his managing career is more notable and this is what he is famous for. In 1999 he was knighted and this gave him inspiration to publish his autobiography 'Managing My Life'. In the book, Alex Ferguson talks about his tough Govan upbringing, his playing days, and how he came to be a manager who places the club before the player. Some years later, Michael Crick, a renowned biographer, released his own objective version of Ferguson's life. The book is titled 'The Boss' and it is a result of spending endless hours in archives and reading through hundreds of interviews. 'The Boss' touches upon subjects like politics and money in football, fights, and moments of glory.
