About Assassin s Creed 3
Assassin's Creed 3 is a third person action-adventure game featuring both detailed single-player story mode and an online multiplayer mode, released for Playstation 3, Xbox and PC in October 2012. Being the fifth instalment in the series, Assassin's Creed 3 continues the rich Assassin's Creed story on from Assassin's Creed: Revelations. As with the previous games in the series, Assassin's Creed 3 places the player deep in a diverse depiction of history. This time set in North America during the American Revolution; players experience the ups and downs of life on the American frontier while once again battling the Bond baddy-like Templars and their attempts at world domination. While the game is set in a vast historical open-word environment, travelling through large towns such as Boston or across the open planes is made easy by the free-running mechanic that the series as a whole has become famous for. Holding a single button while moving allows the player to scale buildings, run along roof tops and, in a new twist to this fluid mechanic, even hop through the trees like a large yet heavily armed monkey. As fans of the series have come to expect, Assassin's Creed 3 is full of encounters with historical figures of the era. Players will meet figures such as George Washington, Thomas Jefferson and even Benjamin Franklin. While some artistic licence has been taken with certain historical events in the interest of the game's story, the game still remains a colourful and deeply entertaining lesson in history. Added to the swash buckling adventure are RPG elements, which round out the gameplay with a balance on the serene building off a homestead through gathering materials and upgrading the Assassin's base of operations, to provide further upgrades and enhancements to the player's arsenal in adventuring and combat.
