Belstaff is an iconic clothing and fashion brand first established in the UK between the first and second world wars. Emerging from humble beginnings to become an internationally renowned maker of boots, bags and most famously waterproof jackets, Belstaff has won an army of well-known followers and lovers of the brand. History Founded in 1924, Belstaff begin life in the business of creating jackets designed for all weather conditions and particularly for motorcyclists. From its founding until the 1990s, the company's clothes and accessories were produced in Stoke-on-Trent and the English county of Staffordshire. In the 1990s a series of financial difficulties resulted in the closure of its factories in the Stoke area and a move was made to the town of Wellingborough in Northamptonshire where it became a small-scale producer of specialist items. Resurgence and purchase The popularity of Belstaff in the UK and other markets around the world took a turn for the better towards the end of the 1990s and grew throughout the early years of the 21st century. Belstaff clothes, jackets and bags vary in price but its brand is a marker of real quality and its items offer exceptional luxury. Since 2011 the business has officially been part of the Labelux Group, which also owns other instantly recognisable luxury goods brands like Jimmy Choo and the handbag maker Zagliani. Belstaff products are now to be found everywhere from Asia to America and from Australia to Argentina, helped by their association with handmade quality and the modelling skills of English footballing superstar David Beckham.
