The BMW E36 M3 was the second generation of the M3, taking over from the previous generation E30 platform. It was also the first to introduce a straight six engine. Originally offered as a coupe, the BMW E36 M3 line later expanded to include both a drophead and saloon model.

The M in M3 stands for Motorsport, as all BMW M-series cars are developed by BMW's motorsport division. Get the most out of your car.
