About Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3
This ground-breaking game offers intense warfare action and lifelike battle scenes that takes gamers directly to the front lines. "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3" is a first-person shooter game which was developed by Sledgehammer Games and Infinity Ward. The video game is published and distributed by Activision. In Europe the game was released on 11 November 2011, for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Windows PC. Several different game modes are offered in the game. In the campaign mode a gamer takes on the roles of several different characters, and the story is split up into three different "acts". The game is remarkably realistic and extremely violent, and damage to the character is shown on screen by the percentage of blood spatter. Objectives in the game range from making it to a certain waypoint, to killing a huge number of enemies and blowing up an enemy compound with explosive charges. A new mode is available in this game called survival mode, in which one or two gamers fight waves of combatants that become progressively more difficult with each new wave. The multiplayer mode has been reinvented with a completely new Killstreak achievement system, which are now referred to as Pointstreaks. Finishing missions such as capturing a flag or planting a bomb in "Search and Destroy" gives a player points toward his or her Pointstreak. The ranking and unlocks system has also been changed including the addition of the "Prestige Shop", which lets players use tokens to buy an extra custom weapon class or double XP. "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3" grossed $1 billion in its first 16 days of availability, and broke several sales records for video games.
