About Clothes Valet Stands
A clothes valet stand, or butler stand, offers a neat way to hang clothes without creasing, but they can actually also serve a number of other functions. In small flats or townhouses without access to outdoor drying facilities, a valet stand can double up as a drying rack. To save time in the morning, outfits can be assembled and hung on a valet stand the night before so you can just get up and go. Designers or stylists can even use valet stands to try out new looks and silhouettes.
A colourful clothes valet stand can add a modern accent to a bedroom, closet or utility room, and stands are available in colours including red, white, pink, black, chrome and brown.
Foldable stands can save even more space in your home, and can be stored in a utility closet or behind doors when not in use.
Vintage butler stands are usually made from a durable metal or dark wood. As well as serving their function, an ornate vintage stand can act as a standalone piece of furniture in a hallway or sitting room.
The typical valet stand is around 105cm high, 46cm wide and 36cm deep, but sizes will vary depending on whether you choose a single or double stand. Clothes valet stands should include a built-in hanger and a couple of hanging rails with enough height to hang a suit or complete outfit. At the feet of the stand, there should be room to place shoes and any other accessories (e.g. a briefcase).
