About Converse

Originally formed in 1908, Converse is an American company that has predominantly become known for its shoes, but also offers a range of clothing and accessories. The company was founded by Marquis Mills Converse in Massachusetts in February 1908, and originally focused on rubber soled footwear that provided winter footwear. In 1915, they began to make tennis shoes, and in 1917 the Converse All-Star Basketball Shoe was launched, with this design becoming iconic over the years. Other designs such as the Weapon, the Pro Leather and the Star Player increased the sporting presence of Converse, but the shoes created by the brand soon also became a popular choice as a fashion statement, not just as sports wear. Their shoes have been sported by the likes of Drew Barrymore, Demi Lovato and Willow Smith, as well as becoming synonymous with rappers and other style icons. The men's, women's and children's ranges offered by Converse all include shoes, clothing and accessories. The accessories ranges include hats, bags, socks and a variety of patterned and coloured Converse laces, while the majority of the clothing lines produced by the brand are t-shirts, hoodies and jackets. Converse shoes are available in a huge variety of styles, colours and patterns, meaning that they can be worn with a wide range of outfits. Choose from standard sneakers or high tops, in a number of fabrics that include leather and canvas. Converse have also produced a number of special editions over the years, including 1Hund (RED), The Clash, Jimmy Hendrix, Liberty print Converse and more.
