Rising damp can reveal itself in a number of ways. Flaking paint and peeling wallpaper may be evident, a coating of hygroscopic salts may appear on walls, skirting boards can become damp and rotten and mould and mildew can develop. The outcome may not be simply ruined décor, as the dampness can have an effect on health. Dryzone cream addresses the root cause of this problem. Injected into a wall it diffuses before curing and forms a water repellent barrier, stopping the rise of damp within the wall. It is quick and easy to apply. A series of holes are drilled into the mortar and Dryzone can then be injected into these by using a skeleton frame gun. The treatment is complete at a single pass. Dryzone cream can also be applied to the surface of a wall by brush or roller and penetrates deeply to form a water repellent layer that also helps to improve the thermal insulation performance of masonry.
Dryzone cartridge tubes ready to be used with an application gun are available, as are various sized containers of Dryzone cream ready to be applied by brush or roller. Also offered are blanking plugs to seal the DPC holes drilled in walls for the injection of Dryzone cream.
