About Fat Face
Fat Face is a clothing brand that was founded by Tim Slade and Jules Leaver in 1988. Only in their early 20s at the time, the pair were skiers who had run out of money, and subsequently decided to open a clothes shop in the French Alps. They sold a number of their belongings, and with the proceeds they bought plain t-shirts on which they printed logos. One such logo was "better a bad day on the water than a good day in the office", for which the Fat Face brand has become known.
Originally, the line was called Slade's, but after growing interest from British tourists, they opened a shop in Fulham, London in 1993 and named it Fat Face. The name came from La Face - a ski run in Val-d'IsÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂère.
As the business grew, more stores were opened - both in the UK and across the world. At first, Fat Face specialised in active clothing for various sports, but over the years grew to become popular as a fashion brand as well.
Fat Face produce clothing and accessories for men, women and children. The menswear lines include outerwear, such as jackets and gilets, along with knitwear, t-shirts, shorts and trousers, underwear and more. The womenswear range includes skirts, dresses and tunics in addition to the other core items, while the children's range offers smaller variants of the inimitable Fat Face style.
The brand also creates a range of accessories and footwear for all three groups, including belts, scarves, hats, bags and more.
