About Horrible Bosses

Horrible Bosses centres on three friends Nick, Dale and Kurt who all have bosses they hate for different reasons. One night at a bar, they all come to the conclusion they need to kill their bosses in order to be happy. Nick Hendricks (Jason Bateman) works from sun-up to sun-down at a financial firm for David Harken (Kevin Spacey). He's putting in extra hours in anticipation of a big promotion which Harken ends up bestowing on himself. Dale Arbus (Charlie Day) is a dental assistant who is sexually harassed by his boss, Dr. Julia Harris (Jennifer Aniston). While employed under Dr. Harris, he was placed on the national sex offenders list for peeing at an empty playground. Dr. Harris takes advantage of the fact that his status on the list makes him unemployable and subjects him to aggressive, sexual advances despite Dale being engaged. Kurt (Jason Sudeikis) works at an accounting company for Jack Pellit (Donald Sutherland) who is a wonderful boss. Unfortunately he dies and the company is left to Pellit's drug-addicted good-for-nothing son Bobby (Colin Farrell). Horrible Bosses was nominated for seven awards and won two. It won the Critic's Choice Award for best comedy and a MTV Movie Award. The MTV Movie Award was for best on-screen dirtbag for which both Jennifer Anniston and Colin Farrell were nominated, but Anniston won. Horrible Bosses" made $28 million opening weekend and $117 million gross in the United States. It was generally well-received by critics. Roger Ebert gave the film 3.5 stars out of 4 and remarked that it was well cast. Most of the starring cast played well-known and liked characters on popular comedy TV shows: Jennifer Anniston from the TV sitcom Friends, Jason Sudeikis from Saturday Night Live, Charlie Day from It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Jason Bateman from Arrested Development.
