About Hygena Bed
The Hygena brand was launched in 1925 in Liverpool to originally make Hossier Cabinets. After being bought out in 1938 by a new investor, the brand was reinvented to make kitchens for temporary prefab housing after World War 2 and went on to make Formica a household name.
Famous for manufacturing kitchens in the mass market during the 1960s and 1970s, Hygena was bought out by MFI in the 1980s and expanded their range to include bedroom furniture. The most recent relaunch happened in the 2000s with Homebase and Argos taking over the brand. It has since gone on from strength to strength, providing good quality, affordable furniture to Britain's homes.
When deciding on a new bed, you have plenty to choose from with Hygena range. For kids' or guest bedrooms, the single 3ft Matrix bedframe is a popular choice and is available in silver and black gloss.
If you need storage space, then the ottoman style double bed frames provide up to 245 litres of under bed storage. Available in black or grey upholstered fabric and featuring an easy to raise gas-lift mechanism beneath the wooden, supportive bed slats.
More storage is offered with the Henrietta double bed frame featuring under bed drawers to hide away anything from clothing to bedding. Once again, this style is available in a variety of coloured upholstered fabrics with wooden slats providing support.
