About Mango - Women's Clothing
Barcelona-based Mango is one of the most popular names on the High Street, offering a wide range of clothes for men, women and children at affordable prices. Founded by Spanish brothers Isak and Nahman Andic in 1984, there are now Mango stores across the world, catering to teenagers, students and young professionals.
While the brand is primarily a women's retailer, in 2008 a men's line, called H.E. by Mango, was launched. The store also offers a younger collection, Mango Kids, for girls and boys aged 3 to 12, as well as a large selection of purses, scarves, bags, gloves, jewellery and shoes.
The store's ethos is to produce 'quality clothing for the modern, urban woman'ÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂ. It offers basics such as t-shirts, pencil skirts, knitwear and jeans, as well as more glamorous evening wear and cocktail dresses, and office-appropriate attire for both women and men. However in 2013, Mango began offering sportswear and underwear for the first time through two new collections: Mango Sport and Mango Intimates.
It has attracted a number of famous spokes-models over the years. In 2011, Kate Moss appeared in a Mango commercial video shot by infamous photographer Terry Richardson, and since then, the brand has signed actresses Scarlett Johansson and Penelope Cruz, as well as supermodel Miranda Kerr.
In 2013, the store unveiled plans to launch a plus-size collection called Violeta by Mango, featuring 400 original pieces in sizes 12 to 24. The line is fronted by plus-size model Robyn Lawley.
