About Max Payne 3

In 2012, May Payne 3 was released by Rockstar Games. Though this was the third in its series, it featured a new writer and a new development team. Released for Microsoft Windows, XBOX 360, and Playstation 3, the game follows tragic antihero Max Payne, a former NYPD cop who lost his entire family in the original game. In the third installment, published nearly a decade after the release of the second, gamers find Payne retired from the force and drowning his pain in alcohol and pills. A confrontation from a local mob boss in a pub is the catalyst for action in Max Payne 3. Raul Passos, a former colleague of Max Payne attempts to recruit him for a special, private contract job in Brazil. At first offer, Max Payne adamently refuses, wanting no part in the drama and danger of his previous life. However, when a few harsh words turn into a fight, Payne kills mob leader Tont Demarco in a bar-room brawl. Needing to get out of town for a while, Payne rethinks his decision and travels with Passos to Brazil. It is from there that he sets out to protect the wealthy Branco family. The critically acclaimed game went on to receieve high recognition from many top game reviewers, including Gamespot who awarded the newest Payne installment with a remarkable 9.25/10. The game also recevied a perfect rating from many other review platforms including The Guardian and GameRadar. It also won "Best Animation" at the 2012 Inside Gaming Awards.
