About Michael Jackson

One of the greatest dancers and definitely a figure that will never be forgotten, Michael Jackson truly earnt his crown as The King of Pop. Michael Jackson leapt to fame as the young lead singer in the group Jackson Five. Starting with local gigs and opening for famous singers, the talent scout Berry Gordy caught wind of their act and signed them to Motown Records in 1968. They then released their first album featuring "I Want You Back", "I'll Be There," and "ABC". Michale started going solo whilst still in the band and his first singles were "Got to Be There" and "Ben." Those solo hits also topped the charts and eventually he left Motown for Epic records in 1975. His talent grew under the influence of Quincy Jones, and he soon released "Off The Wall," the album that includes the song "Rock With You." In the 1980s Michael Jackson more or less ruled the world of Pop. In 1982 he released a song with Beatle ban member, Paul McCartney and soon after that he started wowing crowds with "moonwalk" dance moves. He won several Grammys and broke many world records. Years later he built the Neverland retreat. It showcased exotic animals and rides. He often opened it up for children's events and it was believed that he was exploring a second childhood. Jackson eventually married the mother of his two children Prince and Paris, the nurse Debbie Rowe. While preparing for his "This is It Tour" he tragically collapsed and died on 25th October, 2009.
