About Nissan SAT Nav DVD

Nissan has an excellent reputation for building a huge range of reliable vehicles from small city cars through to high performance vehicles and 4x4s. Since the 1990s, many Nissan cars have come fitted with a Nissan Sat Nav system as standard or had the option of one being fitted at point of sale or as an after market product. These systems provide real time mapping that allows the user to plan routes, find points of interest, provide direction and monitor speed and journey direction. The information is provided to the driver via a screen mounted to the dashboard or installed directly into the central console of the car, with most offering audio direction as well as visual. In order for the Sat Nav to work it needs to have the map data stored. For many Nissan Sat Nav systems this will come from a DVD that will upload the map data to the memory of the Sat Nav and/or remain in the system whilst in use. The DVDs come with a huge selection of geographic data so you will be able to find the maps and data for almost anywhere in the world. Once the data is stored the Sat Nav will use GPS tracking and positioning systems to identify where you are an map out the routes. Many of the Nissan Sat Nav DVDs will come with additional features such as locating petrol stations, parking areas and places of interest with the higher specification models being able to identify speed cameras and track average speed, projected journey time and calculate fuel consumption.
