The PlayStation 3 is a gaming console from the Japanese electronics giant Sony. This device was the first console to use Blu-ray discs; launched in its home country on November 11, 2006, it sold over 81,000 units in the first 24 hours. The original model was available in different hard drive storage configurations, from 20 to 160 GB, with all but the 20 GB model able to connect to the Internet through Wi-Fi.
The PAL European version launched the following year and sold 165,000 units in the UK during the first two days. When Sony later updated the PlayStation 3 with a slim model and a super slim version, critics actually gave the rebranded and repackaged versions higher praise than the original. Buyers can find a wide variety of game options from which to choose, from adventure games to one-person shooters and more.
