About Pokemon Heart Gold
Pokemon Heart Gold is a popular video game for the Nintendo DS. The Pokemon franchise was initially created by Satoshi Tajiri in 1996. The original concept of Pokemon was as a role playing adventure video game for GameBoy developed by Game Freak and is one of the top video game based franchise series in the world. The plot of the video game franchise revolves around an alternate world whereby trainers catch and capture Pokemon 'pocket monsters' and battle them in gyms, which all feature leading trainers, and collect them in containers named Pokeballs using an information system called Pokedex.
Pokemon Heart Gold, released in 2010 was released as a remake of the original Pokemon Gold (1999). The game takes place in the Johto region of the franchise's fictional universe and focus on a young trainer created by the player who can choose either a Chikorita, Cyndaquil, or Totodile as their starter Pokemon from Professor Elm.
Players begin in New Bark Town, the hometown of the game's Generation IV main character, either Ethan or Lyra depending on the player's choice. The chosen character starts the game on an errand for Professor Oak and meets the other near the beginning of the game, who will then act as a mentor on how to catch Pokemon on Route 29. The goal of the game is to become the best trainer in Johto and Kanto, which is acheived by collecting Pokemon and battling rivals in one-on-one and gym environments throughout the remainder of the game. Players are followed by their first chosen Pokemon, which is reminiscent of a previous generation of the game named Pokemon Yellow. A device called the Pokewalker comes bundled with the game and can connect to Nintendo DS game cards through infrared signals; this device holds one Pokemon and acts as a form of game pedometer to increase the level and friendliness of the creature.
