About Portable Garage Carport
A portable garage or carport is a roofed structure, much like a gazebo, that is erected outside and as required for the storage of cars, boats and other vehicles from all weather conditions. They come in a range of shapes and sizes to suit individual needs and vehicular demands.
The typical carport differs from a gazebo or marquee intended for leisure purposes in that the frame is usually constructed from a much stronger, powder coated or galvanised steel tubing. The cover is also built to be highly durable, often from layered rip stop Polyethylene offering additional protection from the rays of the sun.
Models range from economy canopy shelters for smaller, less easily damaged or less expensive vehicles, right up to superior galvanised steel carports with ground anchors, a flat base surface and roofing built from high gauge steel to withstand upwards of 80,000 PSI. These stronger models are easy to set up but extremely durable against high winds, heavy rain and the build up of snow, as well as UV rays which might damage your vehicle's appearance.
All carports have a variety of other uses, of course, from storing perishable resources like hay bales or food, to housing livestock and other animals.
There are also many accessories available to enhance the protective functionality of your carport. To maintain a steady airflow and low humidity, ventilation kits are crucial for those planning to work on their vehicle inside the shelter, as well as for those intending to keep animals inside. A range of different anchor kits are useful for securing carports to the ground, particularly in areas where extreme weather is common. While most carports are open at the front, roll-up doors are available and, for additional room, it is possible to purchase "joiner kits" to extend the length of your carport.
