About Rolex Oyster Perpetual Air King
The Rolex Oyster Perpetual Air King was manufactured on the back of the success of the original Oyster model launched by Rolex in 1926. This classic timepiece is recognised as the first waterproof watch in the world.
The wristwatch casing is guaranteed to be waterproof to depths of 100 metres. This is aided by the solid block middle casing of corrosion resistant 904L steel. Another unique feature is the winding crown fitted with the 'Twinlock' patented by Rolex. The Twinlock is a term used to describe the secure screwing against the case acting as a reinforced waterproof system. The Rolex Oyster Perpetual Air King casing is also resistant to pressure, shocks and dust.
In 1931, the company patented a self-winding component with a rotor - hence the name perpetual rotor. In addition, the Rolex Oyster Perpetual Air King has an attractive, robust metal bracelet with the classic three piece link, signature to the Rolex Oyster collection.
When purchasing a used Rolex watch, it is worth checking the description to establish the condition and age of the timepiece you are purchasing. Watches that come in the original box are a safe bet, as they will have a stronger resale value. Check pictures prior to purchase and always consult the seller if you have any questions.
