About Saab 900 Turbo Classic

The Saab 900 was manufactured by Saab Automobile for 20 years from 1978 to 1998. The Saab was released in two generations and the first model is known as the Saab 900 Turbo Classic whilst the later model is called the ‘New generation’. The Saab 900 Turbo Classic based its design on the chassis of the Saab 99 but incorporated a longer front end in order to meet with US regulations. The car was available as a two or four door sedan or three to five door hatchback and a convertible or ‘cabriolet’ model was released in 1986.

Although it’s no longer manufactured, the Saab 900 Turbo Classic is still a popular vehicle amongst car enthusiasts and it’s easy to find entire cars or various parts available to buy online, so whether you want to make some improvements to your existing vehicle or treat yourself to a brand new ride, you’ll find plenty of choice available. The Saab 900 is available with turbocharged engines, fuel injection and twin carburettor and incorporates FPT or Full Pressure Turbo in US models and LPT or Low Pressure Turbo in European models from the early 1990s. All Saab 900s are compact front wheel drive vehicles with beam axle rear suspension and double wishbone front suspension.
