About Sarah Millican

In 2013, Sarah Millican became more than a popular stand-up comic; she became one of the 100 Most Powerful Women in the U.K., according to BBC's Woman's Hour Power List. How did Sarah get so powerful? It all started when she garnered attention for her comedy routine in the early 2000s, and she won an award for Best Newcomer. She started appearing on BBC in 2009 in the series "Walk on the Wildside", and started a radio programmeme in 2010. She now has a series out called "The Sarah Millican Television programmeme" as well as live DVDs that have sold very well. What makes Sarah so relatable? Her signature style is honest, fresh, and lively, and she talks about everything from divorce to weight to sex issues. Her style, called observational comedy, is simply noticing the funny things about everyday life and providing hilarious commentary about them. She also uses frequent profanity, leading some critics to call her work "blue". Women relate to her weight woes, her stories about raising kids, and her upbeat demeanor, and men can't help but laugh, too. The coolest thing about Sarah is she got her start after going through a painful divorce; she literally laughed herself back to a happy life. Sarah's sweetness and pleasantness make the things she says even more shocking, and therefore, even funnier to listen to. If her stand-up isn't enough proof of Sarah's success, her DVD sales are: her DVD called "Chatterbox Live" is the highest selling film by a female comedian.
