About Skybox F3 12 Month
The Skybox F3 is a Linux-based digital satellite receiver box which allows users to access free to air satellite channels and other content which is streamed over the internet. It is an increasingly popular option for those who have previously had a subscription to Sky channels and are looking for a basic box which will allow them to access free programming with a basic recording function.
What?s in the box?
When bought new, the Skybox F3 should be shipped with a remote control, HDMI cable, power supply and a user manual. If you are buying a second hand unit, be sure to check if these are included.
The box comes with a USB slot, which can allow you to connect an external hard drive for recording programmes. You can also pause live TV in the same way you can with Sky+, but you can?t access features such as series link.
The default EPG on the Skybox is fairly rudimentary and is not as intuitive or user friendly as those who have used a conventional BSkyB box may be used to. However, because of its Linux operating system it can be updated, and there are several updates which can be downloaded to the box via a USB drive which improve the user interface of the EPG and enable 7-day recording.
The Skybox can be connected to the internet via an ethernet cable. This can allow you to access content from YouTube and other apps.
Despite the name, the Skybox is in no way affiliated with BSkyB or any of its services.
