About Tall Radiators
Tall radiators are an efficient way to heat a room, and their slim, modern design, creates a contemporary feel. A great advantage is that, because of their modest width, tall radiators will fit into narrow areas, freeing up wall space for other furniture. They can be used to heat many different rooms in the house, or in smaller retail or office areas.
Tall radiators range in size from 236mm to 413mm in width and from 1500mm to 1800mm in height. They project from around 50mm in depth from the wall. There are many different colours and styles to choose from, including white, black, or grey, in either matt or gloss finish.
In terms of construction, tall radiators are generally made from steel and typically consist of a panel of columns, which can be tubular or flat in shape, with smaller sized radiators having just four columns and larger models having eight to 12 columns. Many models have straight vertical pipes, but some have an attractive wave, or curved design. There is also a choice of either single panels, or double panels where extra heat is required. The amount of heat generated is determined by the size of the radiator, so larger models will radiate the most heat and are particularly suitable for larger sized rooms.
Tall radiators are usually fixed to the wall with special brackets and are plumbed into the central heating pipes. They often include an installation kit containing wall brackets, air-vent and end plug.
