When Rick Grimes, a sheriff's deputy, wakes up in a grimy hospital after having been in a coma for weeks, he faces a world overrun with zombies. While he was out, the world experienced a zombie apocalypse and everything was turned upside down. He soon becomes the leader of a group of survivors and tries to lead them to a safe haven where there are no zombies. This is basically what makes up the TV series 'The Walking Dead', which spices up your evenings with horror and thrilling moments. The zombies that walk the earth are greedy and devour living human flesh. Once they bite someone, the person is infected and becomes a zombie. Therefore, it is crucial to escape as fast as possible. When trying to survive in the world of zombies, the group faces many struggles and dilemmas. They have to deal with an array of issues, including some of the group members getting killed. Moreover, not all human beings they encounter are nice and friendly. The apocalypse has brought out the worst in people and so many have become predatory, thinking only of their own gain and fighting for their own survival. The TV series features actors like Andrew Lincoln, Jon Bernthal, Steven Yeun, and Sarah Wayne Callies among others. 'The Walking Dead' is directed by Frank Darabont who is also known for 'The Green Mile', 'Shawsank Redemption', and 'The Mist', being thus no stranger to ghastly plots. If after watching an episode of 'The Walking Dead' you are still not ready for bed, you can entertain yourself with similar films like 'Carrie', 'Candyman', 'Mama', and the old classic 'Night of the Living Dead'.
