About Warehouse Lighting
There are many things to consider when designing and creating an efficient warehouse. Storage units, shelving, and wayfinding signs are important, but one factor that should never be overlooked is the lighting. Modern solutions tend to be based on the use of LED, but fluorescent bulbs and high intensity discharge (HID) lighting are also viable options. Initial budget, ongoing costs, energy efficiency, and light output will combine to determine which is the best option for your needs.
Warehouses need good lighting in order that warehouse employees can easily find what they are looking for. However, they typically have high roofs and this can make it difficult to ensure a uniform spread of light throughout the building. LED warehouse lighting is not only bright but its dispersal is uniform too, so that it bathes the entire room in comfortable light.
LED warehouse lighting may cost a little more to purchase than HID or fluorescent options, but they offer better long term cost savings. You will need much lower wattage when buying an LED light and this means that it will take less electricity to power the new lights. What?s more, a lifetime of 20 to 30 years means that you will not have to replace them for at least a couple of decades.
Whereas some traditional forms of lighting offer a yellowish or cream hue, LED lights can offer a bright white, but they are also available with other light colours. You can bathe your warehouse in the colour of light that best fits the application, but if brightness is important, then the brilliant white option is the best.
