About White Sideboards

A sideboard is a decorative piece of furniture that also provides practicality for your living space. Typically they have a flat top used for placing pictures, ornaments or electrical goods on and a series of drawers, cupboards and/or display cases to help declutter your home. The size and shape of the sideboard can vary dramatically as can the storage capacity and method of storage. A white sideboard is most commonly used in more contemporary and minimalist interior designs although white wooden sideboards with a more rustic aesthetic can be used in more traditional, classic designs or country style homes. In most cases, white sideboards are made from wood, but metal, glass and other materials are also available. You will have the option of a high gloss or matte finish, depending on personal preference and you can also have a decorative design, or a more understated and shear finish. In order to achieve a high gloss finish a gloss paint, lacquered surface or polymer product will be applied to the sideboard. If matte, it is more likely to be paint or treated wood. The storage options of your white sideboard can be presented in the same style as the surface or include glass fronted display cases or alternative colours to deliver a more striking or contrasting effect. Many traditional style sideboards will come with a single or double storage cupboard complete with interior shelves and a series of drawers, but you will be able to find many different configurations to suit your personal taste.
