The XBox One is an eight generation video game console. It was announced in May 2013 and launched in the November of the same year. XBox consoles are developed and marketed by Microsoft and the Xbox One is the next step up from the Xbox 360, making it the third ever console released by the brand.

The XBox One works with the regular wireless XBox controller as well as the motion detecting Kinect and also the XBox Smart Glass which allows smartphones and tablets to connect to the gaming through a second screen. The XBox One can also be connected up to the Xbox Live network which allows for competitive online gaming and further networked benefits such as streamed TV and video.
