The Joy of Driftwood
There's something special about driftwood. The way it's tossed and turned by waves, washed against rocks and transformed from ordinary pieces of wood and branch, into nature's sculptured art. When the sea has had carried it far enough, the driftwood is washed ashore, ending up on sandy or pebbly beaches. From there, it may sit for a while, or be found - by people or animals - and picked up, played with and sometimes taken away to be cherished or given a new lease of life. If you're not near enough a beach to search for driftwood discoveries yourself, other people are - and some of them have transformed their finds into wonderful examples of home decor.
