Interesting combo of product and packaging. Wouldn't have associated Mrs Beeton with soap.
Definitely had one of these. Nobody would wait five minutes for an electric kettle to boil these day but at the time it was quicker than putting a kettle on the gas hob.
I think every house had one of these
Had one of these when first married, everything burnt onto it, hopeless. Made by Dow Corning at Barry (?)
One like this stood on Nana's draining board and usually had a lump of Fairy Household soap on it with jelly like goo in the tray underneath. Such was Nana's frugality even this goo was used for washing woolies.
We had egg cups from this range. I realise that they were probably bought for the caravan and ended up rather superfluous to requirements in the kitchen cupboard once the last van went.
Very evocative, probably thirties. Would have been cheap and functional but the colour and simple lines make it very appealing
Another old friend, the orange one loitered round the kitchen for years
My mother may have bought this set because I have the palette knife and I remember other pieces floating around at home.
