I bought this Sat. Nav.for my son who needed one for his new job.He says it is brilliant.Easy to use and has a large screen that makes it very useful to see routes well marked and clear. The voice instructions are clear and accurate too.
A few people have already said the following - but I will mention it again:The manual that comes with the Sat. Nav. only refers to the periferal functions, such as;music, film and digital picture usage. If you want information on the specific uses of the navigation functions a full, highly detailed and well set out copy is available in a PDF document that can be downloaded and/or printed easily. You go on to Google and just type in: navngo igo8 ,and it comes up at the top of the list.Click on this and it gives you access to the instructions - and it's free!
Some said,in their reviews, that it is hard to find addresses by using a post code.My son worked out how to do it without using the manual, but the PDF file manual tells you how to use the post code method in a clear,straight-forward way.The screen is bright and,the only negative comment my son made was that the beeping sound that activates if you go over the speed limit is irritating.I pointed out that the obvious answer to this is that he stays within the speed limit!(He doesn't break very often,I feel I should say.)
In conclusion, the Sat. Nav. is well designed, easy to use and very impressive, especially considering the price and the extras that come with it.(screen shade,2 mountings,in car charger,in house charger etcetera).
In my son's opinion this item is excellent!Well done Navigator for giving motorists an affordable,well-designed and accurate,multi-fuctioning Sat. Nav..Thank you!

I've given this product 5 stars.
Bought this when the TomTom Home software screwed my sd card when I was trying to back it up.
This is a windows ce device where the Satnav software is one of many applications.
The manual supplied tells you how to use the unit (charging etc) and how to use the other applications. There are no instructions for the Satnav software. That's not a problem as the Satnav software is iGo8. Just google 'navngo igo8' and you can download a pdf user manual.
There is a plastic backplate which needs to be fixed to the unit, there is one slot at the top and two at the bottom that allows the backplate to snap on (not obvious so persevere).
There is a card inside the box with the web-site and a username/password. This did not work so I emailed the vendor and he replied quickly to tell me the site was under maintenance. I tried next day and sure enough I logged in and downloaded the UK map. It was the same version as the one on the unit (2012 Q1, pretty up to date).
One of the earlier reviewers said it was difficult to delete a route. I found the easy way. If you tap the top left hand corner (next direction indicator) you get a little menu with a 'delete route' option.
This brings me to an important point. On my TomTom if you plan a new route it immediately overwrite the current route.
Igo8 doesn't do that, it adds the new location to the existing route, that's why you need a 'delete route' function.
This distinction was why I couldn't at first plan a multi-point route (even with the manual in front of me, it wasn't clear). Here's how you do it, it may save you a few hours trying to work it out.
1. Delete the previous route (either like I explain above or thru the menu).
2. Find a new location and set it as the destination or start point. This will go back to the map screen and calculate the route.
3. Press menu and Find again and search for the location you wish to go to first. Set this as a 'via point'. Do this as many times as you need until you have built up your entire route. If its in the wrong order you can change them later.
4. You can save the route if you wish.
The Satnav warns you when you are exceeding the speed limit and you can also set it to warn you when you are approaching a speed camera. IT had 2d and 3d maps and can even show you buildings in major cities.
If you come across the 'skins' menu do not change the 'default'. A 'skin' as far as I know is an altered/enhanced version of the software. When I tried it, it closed the current software and started to load the new skin. This failed with an error. Fortunately on my third attempt the unit realised the application would not load and allowed me to reset it to the normal skin. This however meant I had lost all my previous settings and had to set them up again.
The software is far superior to my old TomTom One.
Battery doesn't last long when not charging but I didn't expect it to (neither do mobile phones when you connect to satellites).
At less than £40 you cannot go wrong.

This is a simplistic easy to use Navigation. For the price of the product, it is an amazing steal!!
I would let you know though, that the speed is slightly out on GPS vs. actual car movements...not alot, 3-6mph, but could be the difference between a ticket and no-flash at the speed camera's etc.
The only other little thing that annoys me is the travel time...would have prefferred the "arrival" time instead, as you could have been 20mins away from somewhere 10minutes ago, due to ttraffic...so not very helpful (yes me just being lazy working out times...but thats what sat nav's are for).
Finally, i dont know if i missed it, but i cant seem to see an option to stop the route...you need to go through the menu to 'delete' the route...not always what you want to do!
Other than those small things...which annoy me, and possibly not others, this is a great piece of kit...highly recommended.

Bought this to replace my TomTom One as the maps needed updating and I wasnt prepared to pay out every year! This comes with FREE (yep, FREE) map updates for life. Very easy to find your way around this product although the manual is not great and written by a non-English speaker! More features than the TomTom One and the navigation is much much better. Built in trip computer shows you average speed, driving time, stopped time, total distance and altitude. Also has a speedometer screen with compass, for when you are bored with the map! I found this system quicker to re-calculate the route if you take a wrong turn.
You can load photos, music and videos on this and play them back on the road, copy a film for the kids to watch on a long journey. Included, also, is a calculator, Ebook, conversion tool and games. Mounting brackets are well made and you get two with this. The usual screen mount and a vent mount. All cables and charges are supplied to enable connection to home pc, mains outlet and car dc socket.
All in all very good value and I am very pleased with it.

The sat nav arrived very quickly, well packed and in good condition.
Easy to operate without reference to the manual. Lots of useful features not found on other makes. Simulation and Fly over, Blue Tooth & FM connectivity to name but four. Two areas where it could improve; in strong sunlight it can be hard to view, therefore you need to consider where you position it in the car; also maximum volume could be greater. Easy to plan journeys, check route and amend if required. Nice clear screen (It could be less refective). Charges quickly It appears to be well made for the cost. Time will tell on longevity but free lifetime download of up to date maps is brilliant. Forget the branded items and get one! I have not graded the display as it would not accept less than 5/5. I'd have given 4/5. I'll certainly recommend this product
