DeLonghi EC330S Espresso Machine

Over the years I have got through a few consumer type espresso machines, always been too broke to buy a really good one. If you use machines regularly then many machines just aren't up to the job. They start out OK, reaching the right pressure, but after a while the pump just doesn't do the job.

This is about the best machine you can find for less than £200 new and usually you will find decent ones for less than £100. As long as you use decent freshly ground beans, tamp well, but not too well, it produces a decent enough espresso.

As with any machine keeping it clean is vital and this is pretty easy to do. Nothing fancy and as every with these machines the milk frothers are a waste of space. But if all you want is a decent espresso and you haven't got the cash for a quality machine, this one is the best I have used.
Just brought my second one and the original is still working after over a year of very regular use, which is amazing as most other machines at this price bracket make coffee worse than Starbucks after a few months.

Bought mine second hand. It was in near new condition as the previous owner had hardly used it. Having said that if I'd bought it new I would still have been pleased.
The coffee machine is generally very good. Simple to use and clean. The reservoir is plenty big enough to enable continual use without having to refill too often. There are lights on the front to indicate when the temp is hot enough to make the coffee and to indicate that the steam pressure is ready for the milk steamer.
I find that it is best to keep the reservoir topped up however as when it starts to get a bit empty the machine can vibrate quite a lot, not really a problem in itself but the two small espresso cups I use start to move and there can be some spillage.
If I do have one gripe about the machine it's that the steam nozzle doesnt have much movement in it so if using a jug to steam milk in it is a bit awkward to slide it under.
The creama produced however is excellent.

A very good coffee machine, this makes a great espresso with a really good crema, the machine heats very quickly, and as long as you preheat it it's ready in minutes, the steam nozzle is also very effective and heats and froths the milk very nicely making a lovely cappuccino or latte.
Cleaning the machine is very easy, I do not have a dishwasher, and it's no bother cleaning by hand at all.
I would recommend keeping the reservoir full of water when you use it, this makes it less noisy and doesn't vibrate as much.
All in all a very good buy, would highly recommend it, very good for people that have not used a coffee machine before. I used the cafe treviso before this one, but I think this one is better, and looks nicer too.

Easy to use if you follow the instructions exactly. Makes a great cup of coffee (I'm using Lavazzo for espresso machines) with a perfect crema.

Great crema on your coffee, machine looks nice as well. A little slower to brew than my last machine but a good machine for the money.
