Garmin Nüvi 1310T GPS Sat Nav - Idiot Proof
Created: 13/12/10
This is my first sat nav. It was so easy to set up, used it for all my trips now. Easy to use, pretty idiot proof. Wish I'd bought one earlier. Heres a list of its features:
- 4.3-inch wide touchscreen display, sleek, ultra-slim design that fits easily in your pocket.
- Preloaded street-level mapping for the UK and Ireland with 60-Day nuMaps Guarantee.
- Turn-by-turn guidance with voice prompts.
- Text to speech calls out the names of upcoming road names on the route.
- 8-digit postcode - navigate using full UK postcode search.
- Auto re-route (fast off-route and detour recalculation).
- Choice of route setup (faster time, shorter distance, off road).
- Route avoidance (avoid motorways, tolls etc.).
- Bluetooth wireless technology for hands-free calling through it.
- Optional accessory for traffic avoidance.
- Custom POIs (ability to add additional points of interest).
- World travel clock, currency and measurement converter, calculator.
- Public Transport and Pedestrian mode with optional cityXplorer download.
- Optional Garmin Travel Guides (sold separately).
- Rechargeable Li-ion battery (up to 4 hours).
- Built-in Cyclops speed camera database (includes fixed camera locations and mobile hot-spots).
- Only 15mm thick - ideal for use in and out of the car.
- Garmin Lock (anti-theft feature).
Garmin nuvi 1310 is an ultra-thin, pocket design, widescreen sat-nav that enables you to talk on your phone, handsfree. The Garmin nuvi 1310 comes with preloaded maps for the UK and Ireland, Lane Assist for help at upcoming junctions and ecoRoute to calculate a more fuel-efficient route.

I bought the Garmin Nuvi 1310 as a new product on a Buy it Now basis at a competitive price.
It arrived within 24 hrs of purchase in its box and it clearly was a new product. The box included the windscreen holder and in-car charger. I therefore decided to buy a mains charger, USB cable and case. All these items were very cheap to purchase and the mains charger is very useful, because the 1310's battery lasts for up to 4 hours so for numerous journeys the in-car charger doesn't have to be used.
Garmin allowed me one free download of the City Navigator maps in order to bring them up to date. Thats when the USB cable came in handy so I could attach the sat nav to my laptop and download the maps from the Garmin website. Garmin also allowed me to download one City Xplorer map free of charge to use when the sat nav is being used by a pedestrian.
All the menus are very easy to use with very little reference to any manuals. In fact, the only manual included in the box was a Quick Start Guide which is about 3" square and contains about 6 pages!
I've yet to use the sat nav to drive somewhere where I've not been before, but that will happen in due course. In the meantime, I'm convinced it will prove an asset for unfamiliar journeys, especially with the system saying street names and advising on which lane to be in (Lane Assist).

New Sat Nav
Created: 08/08/10
The Garmin Nuvi 1310 has exceeded expectations, easy to set up and use, basically it does what I need it to do.
At around £100.00 it is not an expensive piece of kit, like the Blue -tooth connection to phone not sure how this is more legal than pressing a button on the phone but it works well.
Would recommend for anyone who wants a Sat Nav that does the job with some bells on
