Good screen. Bit heavy. Can't download much yet. Still good though.

Review for: Amazon Kindle Fire 8GB, Wi-Fi, 7in - Black
The Kindle Fire is a great little tablet. Although its smaller than the Ipad the weight is not considerably lighter. Its 2.5 times heavier than a normal Kindle. Also, as it hasn't been released outside of the US, you can't download much from the Amazon Store - which is a little pointless. Why??????? The only way to download anything is to root the device so it becomes a generic Android tablet. I'm hoping that Amazon see sense and release it to the UK soon. However, saying that, its still a cracking tablet at a very low price. Come on Amazon - do the right thing. You're losing valuable business.

Review for: Amazon Kindle Fire 8GB, Wi-Fi, 7in - Black
I'm not sure what some of these other reviews are on about. I accept that if you want to read books on an Amazon product, you will need to get the books from Amazon. Strangely enough, this didn't surprise me!! However, there are more than enough to choose from, with a huge number free or at a minimal cost. WiFi is ridiculously easy to setup, as is Email. As a Sky Broadband customer, I can access the net for free from thousands of locations using their new "The Cloud" service. The tablet is small enough to easily carry around, yet big enough for top viewing and the resolution and colours are excellent.
The only down side is that you can't easily get it in the UK. My first thought was to go to Amazon, but fortunately I then went to eBay. I suspect Amazon UK have a stockpile of the standard Kindles to get rid of first. I got mine from the USA via an eBay UK seller (sales@digigood.com), and price and shipping were very reasonable indeed. Make sure you shop around, even on eBay, as there are inevitably punters who will try to rip you off. The fact that it is reasonably priced makes it a target for resellers everywhere, although I'm sure they are not all Tories!!
Guess what? The kindle Fire costs so much less than "some other" tablets that you would be crazy to buy anything else if your main requirements are to read books, surf the net and email. If you want to play games or write your memoirs, get yourself a laptop!!

Review for: Amazon Kindle Fire 8GB, Wi-Fi, 7in - Black
This is a good product, I use it for browsing & free games. Lots of free apps & games to download & 8gb is more than enough space for storage. I don't get a lot of time on it as when my 7 year grand daughter has finished the battery is all most flat. She is all ways on games & you tube. Well worth the money paid. Recommend to any one wanting to keep the young one happy & a little left for your self.

Review for: Amazon Kindle Fire 8GB, Wi-Fi, 7in - Black
Purchased a Kindle Fire, found out it would not work very well with my Apple hardware. Tried to sell it on ebay. Had my listing removed due to intellectual rights. Don't bother, its only got 8GB and its tied in to Amazon.com. And if you find its of no use to you, you carnet even sell it.
Hope this helps !
