Amstrad DRX890 500 GB Satellite Receiver

I bought this product to replace my original +hd box after the male rf pin broke off and it was going to cost £60 callout,which exclude's repair.I purchased this for £63:99.No brainer.
To my surprise this 1 is smaller both width and depth size which I find make's it easier to fit into my recessed fireplace with my other gadgets.I can't compare it to other model's only the 1 I replaced it with,the only difference is it's compact size.

I purchased this box to replace a faulty one. It has a larger storage memeory and it is a smaller size than my old box.
It is excellent, the picture is fabulous using eiother HD or normal view

The box developed a fault a week after installation. It took 30 mins to turn back on after going into automatic standby. Over the next few weeks I had more faults. Not recording some channels,live pause and rewind not working. However, I also feel the retailer SkySatDeals were also at fault in that I bought an ex demo with evidently 18 months warranty. The company were uncooperative. First said to return the box for a refund after I had waited 4 days for support (offer 24/7) gave address for return and asked for a list of faults to be included. then changed mind!

Since sky took over amstrad i found that there amstrad boxes are very good reliable and i have had 0 returns since buying this brand, hdd is easy to upgrade in this perticaller model press a couple of buttons wait a few mins job done.

Bought secondhand, but physically in good shape quickish to use and the larger hard drive is much better than in the original Sky+ boxes. HD picture very good. No problems so far.. Recommended.
