I wanted something a little different than my old Windows laptop and is was certainly it!

Used primarily for my media, it's an excellent performer, faster at media conversion and processing than many supposedly comparitive Windows machines I've used. Build quality and battery life are also excellent and despite this having the smaller screen, for me this is the perfect size / performance trade off.

It's a bit like owning an iPhone, not 100% perfect, but a so much easier to use, all in one package than other stuff I've used, I'll know that I'll be enjoyoing it for quite some time to come!

Don't be fooled by the 'everything apple is cool'. Yes, they really do look and feel well built and they are, it's a marvel to hold but that's not everything!

This particular macbook is indeed powerful harnessing a i7 processor and it seriously shifts, but this has it's drawbacks on such a small compact unit. The knock on effect of such power is fan noise and this unit when it gets hot, sounds like a helicopter taking off.

Installing istat will show you that CPU usage as little as 6% can see the fan jump from a quiet idle speed of 2000rpm to nearly 6000 rpm and higher and it's just off putting. When you are spending this sort of money, it should at least be reasonably quiet and it's certainly not.

Look up fan noise on macbook pro 13 i7 and see for your self. Apple deny there are problems, but trust me, they exist!
