I LOVE IT!!!
I have long been a fan of Nokia N95 8GB and various N-SERIES phones. But I love to browse the internet, and the web browsing experience on the iPhone blows everything else out of the water.
It is so simple to use, I have owned many PocketPCs and installing applications were so complicated. But with the iPhone you can click on the app store and download loads of free applications and games. Also the iPhones supports international keyboards, it lets you change the keyboard to Japanese, Chinese or Arabic (very userful to me because I study Japanese and Arabic :)).
It has a massive 8GB built in memory and the battery life is amazing compared to my N95 8GB. I have played my MP3 player on my iPhone from the start of uni and left it running till the end of the end and it still had half the battery left... unbelievable.
I love going online, just a few taps and I'm on my GMAIL account and my other Uni account (Microsoft Exchange Server). Even though the phone doesn't support picture messaging... I just send a higher quality version of the picture by email instead. And since the web browsing is free, I dont get charged anything for it. How cool is that?.
I have converted three full movies and I still have 2 GB left on my phone. iTunes lets me import my existing collection of music from CD to the iPhone and it automatically makes a backup of my contacts... no messing about with Nokia PC Suite. Also when I connect my iPhone to any pc, it automatically starts recharging.
Now that I have this phone... I can't imagine any other phone that can do the same. I have tried the new samsung touch screen phones and lg pixon.... but the web browsing is very slow and takes ages to react.
iPhone is the best phone on the market at the moment if you are into music, video playback and web browsing. If you need it for high quality images... buy a digital camera!!!.

I PHONE 3GS
personally i have Iphone 3Gs and it is a middle class phone... more of a gadget than a piece of electronic enginering...it looks cool, has a lot accesories to for it available on the market,is quite handy if someone likes big phones, good toy, and 2 in 1 as i had previously both phone and ipod but it is not as quick as it has been shown to me before i bought it, on some applications it is jamming and i have to reset the application, some APPS are only available when connected via wifi... it is deffinetly more comfortable to use internet on iphone than a normal phone but it took me a while before i got used to touch screen. personalizing and settings are a bit annoying as i didnt figured out how to set my music as a ring tone and ipod features are poorer than in original ipod. my clock works only in 12h system and in 24 it is always 12 hours behind no matter how many times i will change it... i didnt receive my 2G version i i cant understand why on erth someone would buy 16GB phone and than change it to 8GB... i am very curious of a difference my self and already i can say that 3G and 3Gs r a little bit slimmer than 2G... whan it comes to the difference in usage i will let you know as soon as i will receive my item
CONT: my other iphone (previous model) never arrived... when it comes to setting ringtones i find out that the only music i can convert to ringtones must be bought on itunes and single song costs from 79p upwards and despite purchasing multiple albums and singles i still can not set a ringtones... beside camera is crap... picture is blurred and lack of flashlight unables me to take pictures when the weather is the way it is at the moment even with extra lights on...battery is bad... lasts for a day or two without over working the device... you have to close one aplication to use another... i cant wait to upgrate it... new SAMSUNG OMNIA HD is a better option... it works under windows, has simular size and features plus 8 MP camera - and it's cheaper, or just get yourself ipod toutch, looks like ipod, does the same tricks but without internet and calling... so my personal opinion is that it is cheapper to stay with old phone and buy ipod than spend a fortune on iphone... unfortunetly noone told me that before i got my...

Like with all apple devices, the problem I have is the clear lack of respect for their customers when it comes to pricing.
However all pricing aside(i bought it didnt I ?!?) Its not a bad phone. The display is intuative, you will never get bored with it, looks moderately good looking. However some of the simple things it lacks.
A delete button: - you know what im talking about, you have typed a message and want to delete something, backspace deletes in this direction <-, however unlike on windows phones when you push the del' and the magic of 'forward delete' happens; nothing liek this happens on the iphone.
The bluetooth:- this is one of the most annoying things, say your friend has a photo of you on a night out, you say ' send us that pic', your friend tries but low and behold, he doesnt have an iphone so he cant send it to you.
And another thing: - you cant download anything from the web through browsing, just incase it takes business away from itunes.
I doesnt have a good camera: - actually quite rubbish and I would expect for a £300+ phone the camera would be half decent.
Interface: - lets face it if there is something of interest and your phone has just "bonged" you, you want to see what it is you swipe the home screen and like magic you are transported to the item of interest.
However if you are popular and have more than one text at a time, unlike on a windows mobile phone you cant choose which one interests you the most and be taken there with no fuss...
The battery: - what a load of bull 24hours, what is that about.... through moderate use the battery is anialated quickly so before you know it you cant show off your app for dimensioning a grapefruit to all your friends because the battery that apple chose to power your overpriced gem has gone flat.
The silent key: - nearly evertime i put it in the pocket the silent key is switched on so i cant hear anything!!! grr this is so annoying! Why doesnt it like any htc... Just work!
If you put everything aside, it is probably better than any phone you would have had before and it does seem to be quite friendly to people that havent used the device. Things do flow from one to another and you can easily guess how to change settings etc. But I dont see why so many people have gone crazy over it when there are perfectly good phones out there by nokia or htc, that will do all of the things and more that an iphone will do that just take abit of getting used to. They are not trying to be 'iphone killers' just trying to be fully functional handsets that intergrate with real lives.
So the conclusion, if you have no care for money, or the like of buying shiny things, or want to be so different you are like everyone else. This is the phone for you!

iPhone 3G - good at what it does
The iPhone probably isn't the best phone made but it is good at what it does.
The touch screen can take some getting used to and can't be used with gloves on but I've used Apple Macs for years and so it seems a natural extension of my desktop machine. Using iTunes to download software (apps) must annoy some PC users but there's plenty of apps available there for low or no cost.(UK GPS for less than £20!)
The IPhone can download big files and can be expensive to run if you're on the wrong tariff but O2 PAYG offers 500mb for a £10 top up (with free texts) - which is plenty for me - as I use it mostly on Wi-Fi.

IS APPLE IPHONE 3G GOOD OR BAD?
No doubt the Apple iPhone was game changer when it came out. I too was entranced by the hype machine and wanted an iPhone and to be honest, with good reasons in places. I say "in places" mainly because there are some major things that bring the iPhone down in my opinion, but first lets cover the good.
1) It's a beautifully crafted device
2) The screen is fantastic
3) The touch interface is the best out there
4) The ease at which you can buy/download applications is dangerous, but in a good way.
5) The web browsing on it is fantastic
6) The integration of iPod, phone, camera and entertainment device is great, you only need one device in your pocket.
1) BATTERY LIFE! it truly is shocking. It's all well and good having an iPod/phone/entertainment device all in one, but if you're listening to music while browsing the web or sending emails, then it absolutely canes the battery life. I have to charge my phone every day and if i know there's going to be a time where it'll be in heavy usage, i have to put it on an additional charge especially.
2) It's not able to run different applications in the background. So for instance, you can't pause a game, reply to a text, then come back to the game.....it has to close.
3)It randomly drops calls, or doesn't even ring sometimes, this could be due to the carrier or the device....i don't know.
4) You're not able to take out the battery and change it for one with a better hold of charge - not a major problem, but the battery DOES suck *that* much!
5) The camera is rubbish. Seriously. 2MP. No flash. No zoom (you can download an app to be able to zoom, but to be honest, you shouldn't have to. Yes the 3GS has 3MP camera, but even this is waaaay behind what consumers expect from their phone. How much of a problem would it be to whack in a 5MP camera with a flash?
6) I often have problems with data connection etc again not sure if this is a MNO (Mobile Network Operator) problem or handset problem. Usually sorted by refreshing what i was trying to do....still shouldn't have to do this though.
Just felt like i should vent a little bit, due to my iPhone running out of battery again. Don't get me wrong, it's a beautiful device and the user interface is fantastic. The user experience is frustrating at times and if i'm honest can get really annoying!
