I bought this product on release day and can easily say its one of my best buys ever.
A lot of people were disappointed with only a 4S, and not a 5. However, the specs are the same as suspected for the iPhone 5 and the iPhone 4 design is gorgeous anyway, so i am not bothered.
The device is extremely fast and zippy. One obvious area to show this is web browsing, where it smashes the iPhone 4, as well as the Samsung Galaxy S II and the HTC Mozart.
The boot up of the device takes around 12-15 seconds, compared to the iPhone 4's 27-33 seconds.
Siri is a great feature of the iPhone 4S and works extremely well. Unfortunately, I don't use it that often.
The new camera is exceptional and beats my digital camera by a mile. The 1080p video recording is phenomenal, and it comes with auto-video stabilisation.
The death grip antenna gate issue has completely disappeared in the iPhone 4S, and i get much better signal.
Battery life was appalling at first. I then optimised the battery by running it down to 0% and then charging it all the way to 100% and it's ok. Nowhere near as good as the Samsung Galaxy S II, but better than the iPhone 4 and 3GS.

I love this phone so much that I actually tuck it in before I go to bed. Sad, I know, but this is true love!
I fought against getting an iPhone for so long and then I treated myself to a 3G last Christmas. I've been saving for the 4S ever since!
I've had this phone for about a month now and the only bad thing I can say about it is the battery life, or lack of it. I have to carry the plug and lead around in my handbag because it just will not last a whole day without a top up charge.
I'm pretty sure I'm not taking full advantage of its many features, but we're still getting to know each other. Aside from using it as an actual phone (it's easy to forget that that's what it is), my main uses are music and books, with a couple of games thrown in.
Between my mobile network and my broadband provider, I get free WiFi almost everywhere I go, so it's handy for Tweeting and searching the web on the go. The camera is also pretty good and I use it quite frequently.
This is the only smartphone I've ever had so I can't compare it, but I wouldn't change it for the world.

This phone left me surprised and shocked. I was originally going to purchase the iPhone 4, but chose the 4S as I had enough money in the piggy bank, as it is the latest model to date. One of the many things that disappointed me is Siri's extremely slow response time, even with full wi-fi or 3G strength. Secondly, the 4S does not have the option to switch off 3G, for some people this isn't much of a problem. However I would like the option to switch off 3G to save battery power. I also noticed for the extra money the 4S is worth there isn't really much difference from the iPhone 4. I understand it has the processor of an iPad which does make surfing and other things noticeably faster, however the battery is still unreliable. Having to turn down brightness after half a day is irritating. The screen is clear, texting is a breeze. I really like the iMessage when texting another iPhone with iOS 5. The speaker for music is crystal clear, plus making it brilliant for phone calls and speakerphone is good. I wanted the phone unlocked for use with my GiffGaff sim but phone shops are unsure how to unlock the 4s so I'm using orange for a while (With my self-made microsim, I'm not paying £15 for something I can do myself) But overall I'm happy with its performance, stylish look and its incredible speaker. Sadly let down by slow siri and easily dead battery.

Apple products tend to be good, and the 4S isn't an exception. Very smooth fast transitions between apps. Siri is entertaining to use as well, as long as you speak clearly.
Ease of use is good, though opening too many apps may cause the phone to crash to the opening screen, but reopening the app takes but a moment to do. Battery life lasts for a full day if you don't use it for much beyond taking calls and whatnot. If you play games, or take loads of pictures, that burns the battery life more, so make sure you have it regularly charged (or have one of those extra battery pack cases). The phone will need a screen protector if you dislike smudges on your screen. Also, it's not very hardy (like more smartphones) so a case is useful. The phone is naturally quite expensive, but it is aimed for the upper end of the smartphone market, so no real surprises there. Still, it's definitely a good phone, and a respectable piece of tech to carry.
