Very user friendly although having to buy £0.69 for apps

In comparison to Andriod I would say it feels nice and with beautiful touch screen.

The phone also arrived with warranty up to October 2013 which was a bonus

The good: Apple's iPhone 4S has a faster processor and an upgraded camera, all the benefits of iOS 5, and a useful and immensely fun voice assistant. Call quality on the Sprint model is admirable, and the data speeds, while certainly not 4G, get the job done.
The bad: It's about time we get a larger screen.
The bottom line: The iPhone 4S isn't the king of cell phones, but it's part of the royal family nonetheless. Even without 4G and a giant screen, this phone's smart(ass) voice assistant, Siri, the benefits of iOS 5, and its spectacular camera make it a top choice for anyone ready to upgrade

For the first time since the iPhone was born four years ago, a new model didn't arrive in June this year. The wait set the iPhone 5 rumor mill frothing to overflow, so when the iPhone 4S arrived as an incremental upgrade, fanboys commenced an Internet-wide rending of garments. Some critics grumbled that they didn't get more, and I sympathize...kind of. Yes, the lack of 4G is disappointing. And yes, a totally new design would have been fun. But this is hardly the first time that Apple has chosen to make a subtle upgrade. Remember the iPhone 3GS?
The truth is that the 4S brings healthy improvements to an already excellent device. iPhone owners finally get a 64GB model and a better camera, the dual-core processor delivers more speed, and Siri, the iPhone 4S' personal assistant/robot friend/gofer, adds a new and sassy experience. iOS 5 also trots out changes big and small, and we're glad to see Sprint join the Apple family with a true world phone. So while the iPhone 4S isn't the Jesus phone, it's quite enough for plenty of other people-- more than a million, actually.
Not everything impressed me. I'd prefer a slightly larger screen and my list of iPhones misses remains hefty. Performance on the Sprint model is satisfactory. We encountered slower 3G data speeds than on the Verizon phone, but Sprint has a slight edge in call quality. Remember that there will be a discernible difference between the 4S versions (just like we found with the AT&T and Verizon iPhone 4S) so it's important to choose your carrier wisely.
In the end, the decision to buy an iPhone 4S will depend on your current carrier contract. If you aren't eligible for an upgrade with a rebate, I don't think the new features are worth paying full price (at least $500). But if you can upgrade with a discount, or if you're a Sprint customer waiting to get your hands on the iPhone for the very first time, there is enough here to warrant a switch. Sure, there's the chance that a better "iPhone 5" will come next June, but that's a long time to wait. Besides, in the cell phone world, something better is always around the corner.
Design
As I said, the iPhone 4S is indistinguishable from its predecessor. For the most part, that's fine with me. Having lived through the thin phone craze started by the Motorola Razr, I'm not aching for a slimmer device. Granted, the 4S can feel bulky at times, but I continue to enjoy its solid feel in the hand (something that's not always there with skinny phones). I don't have any problems with the handset's general aesthetics, either. A thinner phone may be prettier, but it's what's inside that really counts.

I recently switched from a HTC Desire to an iPhone 4S, and I have finally got to experience what the fuss is all about. Firstly it's a beautiful phone, both externally, and in terms of interface. Everything is wonderful, smooth, and clean looking. The interface never becomes jerky or slow, and although that sounds like a minor thing, it actually makes a huge amount of difference: Everything feels "solid" as a result.The keyboard is FAR improved to the one I had to suffer with for two years on my HTC Desire. I've only had my iPhone a few days and I'm already a fast typer than I ever was with that phone. Well done, Apple!That said, there are few things that my HTC Desire did better:1. The Desire came with an LED indicator that would flash green if I had any updates. That meant that I could glance at my phone across the room and see if I had any texts, missed calls, or emails. It was very handy. The iPhone 4S has a feature to use its flash in a similar manner, but it actually only flashes the instant you receive a text or email. Then it stops.2. The Desire came with a way to control the cursor. The "home" button on that phone also detected finger movement. If I was typing something and I wanted to go back a few characters, I could just move my thumb across it, and control the flashing cursor between the letters. It was extremely useful and I find myself trying to do it on the iPhone. Unfortunately on the iPhone all you can do is hold your finger on the screen and drag the cursor to where you want it to be. It's a little glitchy and a lot slower. Shame.3. When I wanted to search the internet for something with my HTC Desire, I could just press the "Search" button on the case. It was quick and intuitive. On the iPhone it's astonishingly laborious: You must go into the web browser and select the "Google" bar on the top right hand corner of the screen. This wouldn't be THAT bad if it wasn't for the fact that, if you're at the end of a really long webpage, it means you have to scroll all the way back up to the top just to get to the search bar. It's extremely, extremely annoying. I can only hope there's some shortcut that I don't know about.4. Although the scrolling is wonderfully smooth on the iPhone, it's very slow to move up and down large web pages (see above). On my Desire I could "flick" the screen with my finger and it would keep scrolling on its own, with its own inertia (it would eventually slow down depending on how fast I had "flicked" it). This was fantastic when all you want to do is check for new comments on a blog post. You could quickly and easily scroll down to the bottom of a page, without any finger strain.On the iPhone the screen stops as soon as you let go, making navigating long pages a very arduous experience.5. On top of the lack of an LED indicator, the iPhone is also lacking with regards to keeping you informed of updates. On my HTC Desire there would be an icon at the top of the screen, letting me know if I had any updates: An email, a text message, a missed call, a Facebook update, a new Twitter message. No matter where I was in my phone's interface, even on the lock screen, I could see if I had any updates, and what type they were. I can't seem to get a comparably useful system going on my iPhone, which is a bit disappointing.Finally, given all the hoo-hah on TV about having iTunes on your iPhone ("If you don't have an iPhone, you don't have iTunes", says the TV advert), I'm pretty disappointed at the music interfac

I bought this phone on Ebay to upgrade from the 3gs which I thought was a super phone but a little bit dated now. I found the 4S a big improvement, especially on the battery consumption. With the 3gs I used a battery pack all the time. I am of the older generation (OAP) and I find the 4S easy to use and am beginning to use it more and more to connect to the internet. One of the real differences is the Siri application which I find a novelty but not really helpful when I really need it. Possibly need to persevere with it. Like all touchscreen phones I still manage to dial numbers by mistake but all in all I am very impressed with it. The quality of the camera is excellent. Can't really find any dislikes.
The price I paid on Ebay was £245.00 which I think is a real bargain as it is in first class condition. I take extreme care when buying phones on Ebay, doing my research and only buying from someone with over 50 positive feedbacks.

One would think the biggest problem of the iPhone 4S is that it isn't an iPhone 5. Go ahead and say it to a phone whose launch broke sales records and sent the bereaved company's stock soaring.
But this is not what people should care about either. It's not the place for what ifs. The truth is Apple will really need to step on the Fast Forward button with the iPhone 5. A massive challenge - and they need time and a clear mind to do it right.

It's not the right time for Apple to go for speeds that may throw them off course. It would be wrong though to look at the iPhone 4S as a mere time-buying move. In fact, the iPhone 4S has the right measure of Fast and Forward in it. And some of it is to be taken literally.

The iPhone 4S is blazing fast on the new dual-core CPU and graphics chip. And by the way, this is a long-term asset - new apps and services will take advantage and they'll be exclusive to the 4S. The iPhone is finally up there with the industry's finest camera phones too. In fact, it may well have the best 8MP stills and Full HD videos a mobile phone can produce. iOS 5 is busy making a difference too with the iCloud, iMessage, OTA updates, new notifications and voice recognition. On top of that you get the best app store and the brilliant looks of the original iPhone 4.

When you add it all up, Apple have a smartphone that can match and even outclass formidable peers like the Samsung Galaxy S II, the Galaxy Nexus or the Nokia N9. In the US, it will be the likes of the HTC Amaze 4G and the Verizon DROID RAZR.

For millions of people though it will be between the iPhone 4 and the iPhone 4S. Tough one we know. But hey, there's an app for that:
