My Ipod (120gb Classic, black)
Created: 21/07/10
Fantastic, versatile, useful, mobile entertainment, filofax and photo album, that's how I'd describe my Ipod. What a difference it's made to me already, I can listen to my music or a podcast, watch a TV program or film. I can also play a game or read a book or any text files I've put on the little piece of magic I now own. Whatever I want to do while travelling or at home relaxing, I have it covered or the Ipod does, brilliant. I really don't know how I managed so long without one, I've had an MP3 player for years, but how sad it looks now compared, what just music, how boring lol.
Plus, added to the battery power of the Ipod, I've bought a handy battery pack that extends the play time of the Ipod by 15-20 hours per set of 4 AA rechargeable batteries. So with 2 sets of AA's you have up to 76 hours of playing time without ever needing to see a computer or plug socket, what more could you ask.
If my Ipod ever breaks down I'll be lost, until it either gets repaired or replaced that is, I hope that never happens though of course.

Apple iPod classic 6th Generation Black (120 GB) MP3 Pl

A solid product that looks and feels well made. 120GB of storage is more than enough for the serious music lover and the user interface through itunes is easy enough to use, wether you download and add your own mp3 tracks, or purchase them from apple.
If you are looking for a player to view movies and films I would suggest that the newer ipod touch players are the ones you need to purchase.
All in all, the product does what it says on the box. I would certainly recommend this as a well made no frills mp3 player.
One item that is worth changing is the headphones. While the apple supplied phones are adequate, the sound really comes alive if you couple the unit with a pair of Sennheiser CX 400-II Precision In-ear ear-bud headphones, with the apple supplied units there is a distinct lack of bass.
To date, the Apple iPod classic 6th Generation has been a sound, reliable purchase and compared to similar products I have used is superior in my opinion.

A "Classic" love story

When I got this ipod I knew straight away that it was a match made in heaven. My first ipod was the 8gb nano which I bought because I liked the choice of colours and the neat, lightweight packaging but as my music and media collection grew double quick time I realized the memory just wasn't going to be enough, hence the change. I did flirt with the idea of getting a Touch but kicked that into touch (scuse the pun) when I realised that more memory meant MUCH more dosh and also not as many gb's as the classic range has to offer . The 120gb (you can also get up to 160gb's) memory on the Classic is fantastic allowing you to download thousands of songs, many hours of movies, videos,TV episodes etc and the screen is a decent enough size to watch the former on, plus the resolution is great, very clear with good colour. It has a nice weight to it and with the classy matt black finish, gives you the feeling that it's money well spent. Not a lot to find fault with, the only cons that I can think of are that the click wheel can be a bit fiddly till you get used to it and the silver back and screen will obviously get marked and scratched over time (both these actually happen with the other ipod ranges too) but this can be sorted easily enough by buying a case or cover and if you did want to make it look more funky, decal skins can also be bought for the Classic but personally I prefer the original look. Reccomended to all the people out there who just want a "does what it says on the tin" media player that delivers as good as it looks and aren't bothered about thousands of apps. Definitely a touch of class!

I like the ipod. I have lots of music, I mean lots. I work eat and sleep music.
If you are like me then you will love a classic iPod. The 120Gb on this version is perfect for iPod and the large library. iTunes is simple, connect and sync. If you get one of the smaller iPod's you start to hit problems with what you need make playlists. I can never decide what to listen to so I carry it all. The Genius feature in iTunes is a brilliant idea and the algorithm Apple use is very clever. Select a song you feel in the mood of and hit Genius and there you go. Assuming you own the song it will create a playlist of the songs that fit the mood of the original. The iPod in my opinion, with industrial design with sharp defined corners gives it the robust feeling you expect to last. I have many iPods as I use them not only for listening while lounging or travelling or lying in bed trying to get to sleep.. I actually use them for the other function of recording live music. You will need another device to provide the input but they record at 44.1 16 bit or to put it another way CD quality. This is sufficient for most ears. We use some higher rates these days but essentially its what the industry uses for many recordings and CD releases.
I like the seamless integration and no fuss integration with iTunes. I love iTunes range of capabilities. I would at this current point in time rate the iPod above any other MP3 player. Especially the Classic. oh and it works with a Mac and PC.. obviously ! :-)

Truly an amazing piece of media entertainment, all my family have ipods of some sort mainly these. All have been very reliable and still hold excelent battery life.Mine is the oldest at 3 years and still it holds it,s charge.120gb is ample for anyone,i hold over 500gb of itunes which allows me to change my content whenever i want from a large choice. The sound quality is awesome and the video playback is next to none.I mainy watch films using the audio cable through the tv and again playback is fantastic. It truly is an amazing bit of kit, what else could you use to view content anywhere you want when you want.I was in hospital not long ago and this helped me through it all,i had hours upon hours of things to watch and listen to.Fully recommend you get one of these even if it,s to pass time when travelling etc,all round entertainment from such a little device,10/10 from me.
