7th Gen Ipod
Many websites talk of the decline of the MP3 player now the smart phone has arrived, but there is still room for a quality product like this.
Video is crisp and surprisingly watchable given the size, I would not be put off watching a movie in flight. Sound is good, with the use of the equalizer, while the most popular creative headphones offer cheap sound isolation. This is a great deal of hard drive space, my 2nd gen Nano's capacity was too small at 4gb, 160gb however stores every album in the house and a large video collection too, and is still only a third full. A dock is also a good move and there are many to suit all budgets, mine now sends video to TV. Adding an FM transmitter offers all your music to your car's stereo too.
Downsides: Itunes software, not a fan myself, though some reviewers like it, I find the layout awkward when all I need is ripping CD's and 'drag and drop', so I may use Win-amp instead. Grace-note doesn't provide as many covers as I'd like and I'd like to sort tracks how I want them rather than how Apple wants me to. The addition of a protective case is essential, as even the tiniest mark is visible, but these are cheap and plentiful on Ebay.
All in all a good purchase, but some may consider it overkill if only an occasional listener. Future competition may lie in the streaming of music to smart phone apps, as this affords radio too, rather than clunky Pod casts, it seems that easy to use devices always cost more, but for now it is a worthy contender for those who like their products to do what they're intended to.

Apple have a very skill to make any of their products attractive, easy to use and of very good quality indeed. If your looking for any faults on my review then maybe this is your chance to look on to another review, because I can not find many!
Firstly let me tell you about the hardware. It is very smooth and pleasant to hold, with two colors to choose from one being silver and the other black. When you hold it you get the feeling that this is far from cheap. The only fault with iPods is that the back can get very scratched. Just do what I do and get a very good case for it, it hides that or protects it - You would want to protect something like this anyway having invested good money to get it.
The one thing that I find about the iPod classic, is the ability to now have 160GB worth of memory. That is crazy mad!!! I would struggle to find anyone out there who would get anywhere near filling it. And if you do, I am sure you would not get bored with the variety you would end up with. The things you can put on here is basically everything minus the Apps. But this is not for the lovers of the shiny Apps we know to love, leave that for the others and this for the real music lovers. I am sure you have an iPad for that anyway ;) It does not have WiFi leaving out the internet, but your not messing around with it anyway, remember, you want to put it on, lay back, and enjoy.
If you are wondering how fast the software is on this beast, let me re-asure you that it is fast and very responsive. You really do not need me to tell you how good Apple products are. The headphones jack is nicely placed on the top with a hold rocker to prevent you from being disturbed from that amazing song. The screen enables you to view your list of songs including an amazing album scrolling view, books, podcasts, films, TV series, contacts, calendar and information. If you want to invest in a device that gives you good movies or TV shows then get an iPad or iPod touch for pete sake. This can do that to but the small screen would hurt your eyes after too much viewing. This hooks up to iTunes which can very easily dictate where or what you want your content to do.
What more can I say about this. I have owned practically all Apple products. But if you are a serious Music lover, you love listening to books, or keeping up to date with Podcasts and you don't seem to have enough memory that the 16 or 32 or even 64 GB don't give you on the iPod Touch or iPad.
OK, OK, what do I really think about it, get to the point...
This product is arguably but in my eyes, the best music devise you can have. Forget about tweaking the songs you want or like on your devices, get it ALL on this amazing lovely looking Classic and enjoy all those songs, you brought them all after all, why choose. I can reassure you this will be a product that will last, feels and looks amazing and I will be very surprised you will shout at me for writing this review.

Simply the best MP3 player around
The iPod has monopolised the portable music industry, and so it should. Its the most east to use, most attractive and best value for money player out there. Anyone that doesn't get an iPod is just silly.

Excellent product - Great value for money

This an excellent mp3 player, and the extra large 160GB drive allows you to take your entire music collection wherever you go.
I have upgraded to this from a 5th generation model, and it's a lot thinner and much lighter. It's stylish and easy to use. The software is vastly improved since Gen 5.
There is no comparing this player to any others. It is just far better than anything out there to date.

A must have product that won't disappoint

I bought this product to use in my car and I have to say with 160gb of memory i'm never going to fill this! Its great that I can have all my cds on one device. The design is sleek and quite small compared to earlier generations. It has easy to use features. I would recommend using a case as the front and back can scratch easily. All in all a great product at a great price. I bought item as reconditioned but it was practically brand new never been used. Box had a slight dent but hey I'm only concerned with what insides works!!!
