My first experience with the iPod family was when. I had an iPhone 3GS. I still have this phone but I began to realise that 16GB was no where near enough space, so I went and got an iPod 160. I think I was blown away by the amount of space and how it has its own equaliser systems so you can have your music just the way you want it. Ok it doesn't have Bluetooth but there enough packs out there that you can buy for this option. It links up with my car perfectly as well as those iPod dock sound systems. I've been in traffic jams many a time and you can just plug this into your car and watch a movie, tv show or just chill to your music. I can understand the screen may be a bit too small for some people, but I think I 'm too in love with this thing to notice. I wish they had other colours in this model than just black and silver like the nanos and the newer iPod touches.
How the iPod sounds depends on the speakers headphones you're using. For some people who say that the sound isn't that good then I recommend to go to the menu and change the equilizers and your headphone or speakers. I love this iPod so much that I have 2 of them. Syncing to iTunes isn't a problem. It's quick and effortless. If people have any problems then give apple a call. When my iPhone wasn't syncing it was just a software thing. They are very light and you can just pop them in your pocket or gym thingy when you're running or at the gym Take your music and your media world with you. Get one, you won't regrette it.

Apple Ipod 160gb

I have now 5 of these in my family mostly 120gb for the kids but 160 for us.I hold 500gb of Itunes which allows us all to swap and change music and films as and when we want basically instantly. The sound quality is awesome as you can change the equiliser as to how you feel unlike other mp3 players where they only offer isolated sound.A must for most nowadays as the ipod is ever increasingly getting popular. You can and probably will start with a small one which is a good idea however once hooked you will be wanting to get something bigger to store all your stuff.Great for watching movies through your Tv with the Av lead which gives crystal pictures and audio playback. You can mount this in a dock which can be purchased to suit most budgets, and also transmit it with a radio transmitter to your car stereo,i personally bluetooth mine and playback is excellent, all these little gadgets are cheap enough.Lastly o truly ruggable item of kit as they take a little hammer for those that are more robust in their life.Definitely a gadget every house should have that can be enjoyed by all at all ages.

"I love my iPod" - something I find myself saying, every time I use it. But that's down to the music, isn't it?
The weight is not a draw back, it just feels sturdy and stays put in your hand (although small hands may struggle, kids). The memory is amazing, the iPod syncs quickly despite the amount of memory used, I can adjust the brightness of the screen (great for late night listening), easily mark songs for deletion or playlists, and sound quality (headphones) is lovely.
The only drawback with this, and any iPod, is the quality of sound when not using headphones - mp3 just does not have the detail there, so pure music lovers will be disappointed. It's hard to find a reasonably priced docking station that can produce non-tinny sounds. Bit of a let down really - so much awesome music but it all sounds crap when played out loud.

I bought this to replace my 2 year old 8GB black 2nd generation iPod Touch as it was full up.
160GB should be enough to keep me going for a few more years. This generation iPod is a little over half of the thickness of my previous 'pod. Other small improvements are Genius mixes and a slightly better screen with the 'cover flow' function scrolling random album covers across the screen. Finally the screen is now split with the menu on the left and graphics on the right.
Unless you need the greater capacity of the 160GB drive, I would say there is no compelling reason to upgrade. For new buyers, if you have a lot of music and want it all with you wherever you go this is the best option. Less music and the Nano or Touch may suit you better.

Excellent storage, easy to use, versatile

I wanted a device which could hold about 150GB of audio material from my website AtmaDharma.org and which could be easily used by people who are in their 60s & 70s (so not geeks!). The iPod meets both requirements pretty well.
The one downside I have found is that the display is a bit difficult for people who are long-sighted (mostly due to age). The solution I have found is to use a credit card sized fresnel lens to help magnify the display.
So if you have the same 2 requirements as I did then this device is a must-have.
