ipod nano 4th generation
great piece of kit easy to use quite a few extra features, very compact good quality, i recommend getting some kind of protective cover for the player coz it is incredibly slim and i suspect would not hold up well to knocks and bumps, i purchased a silicone skin for it and it seems much more sturdy. i was hoping i would not have to downlode itunes for the player and could just use it as a drag and drop drive, to some extent you can but only with pics and voice recordings so i ended up downloading it anyway. Personally i would not use itunes as your primary media source on your computer as in the passed i have noticed it sometimes changes the file types of my music, sometimes even corrupts the files so they will not work at all.
was a bit miffed as i purchased this to use with video files but only seems to support mp4 format and even with this it is rather selective of what it will let u transfer to the player, for this i suggest downloading a file converter especially designed for ipod formats its an easy fix really but it can be a pain in the ass if your in a hurry.
All in all its a brill little player, and there are loads of extra accessories out there that are compatible with it such as docking stations, speakers, mini speakers, travel equipment, car accessories, very versatile. if you can pick one up for less that £60 like i did its well worth the money.

I-pod nano 4th generation
Sexy, thin, rounded design. Same excellent user interface as in previous nanos. Built-in accelerometer shifts screen for horizontal viewing (like on the iPhone and iPod touch) and lets you shuffle songs by shaking the player. Genius feature creates on-the-go playlists around a single song.
No built-in mic—you need to upgrade earbuds to use the integrated voice recorder. Apple still hasn't upgraded those lame bundled earbuds.so I bought a new pair top notch item all in all.
Apple iPod Nano 4th Generation Chromatic
This is one of the far by best iPod nanos to come out to date. One of the best features for me is the audio cross fade which mixes in all your songs on playback. The video playback is superb quality and if you connect this unit to a good quality Hi-Fi system the iPod is your DJ. The 4th generation sound quality is far superior to its predecessors. Apple has got this generation perfected.

Review for: Apple iPod nano 4th Generation chromatic (16 GB)
Being a 46 year old techno phobe I was a bit nervous about getting one of these, especially after reading all the negative things about ITunes....But...I was fed up with a pile of Cd's stacked up and only listening to a couple of tracks off each cd so I decided to go for this one after reading the reviews.....and I LOVE IT!!! The design of it is really slim and sleek and classic and I love the purple colour too....I invested in a matching pair of earplugs (£8 off ebay), a cable to connect it to my hi fi (£2.50 off ebay) and a Bush 40watt docking station (£23 off ebay) so I could have music wherever and whenever I want it! The I tunes programme is SO easy too use and I just put all my favourite tracks off each cd which was a bit fiddly but means that there is nothing I don't like! I usually have it set to shuffle songs so I never know whats coming next and have even downloaded some tracks from the internet!!!! I like the fact it has a screen so you can see what track is playing and anything else you want to know! I went for the 16gb version as it wasn't a lot more than the 8gb and I thought it would last me forever!!!!! I wish i'd got one of these ages ago and would definately recommend it to anybody thinking of getting one.

A very origonal music player

The apple IPod Nano 4th Generation is a very good music player. I consider it one of the faces of Apple, having a very original design and functionality. The battery life I would also consider really good, being able to last around 2 days of regular use and storage space is very good, especially considering its size. It is a very light and small MP3 player, but although this some would say is good you can sometimes not actually realise it is in your pocket, which could put it in danger of being left in pockets, while in the wash or being damaged. The scroll wheel I think is a little bit small, because often you will find it a task to keep your finger on the touch pad while scrolling through menus, but this could just be becuase of the size of the actual player. This small size also gives it a very delicate feel, and it might actually be quite resilient, but when you hold it you get a fear that it can snap in half if you drop it. So since it is not particularly weighty I would advise getting a silicon case just to bulk it up a little and remind you it is there.
All in all I think that the IPod nano is a very good Mp3 player, with a very simple layout, but still allowing access to functions like the music player, video player, photo viewer, stopwatch, calendar games and more.
