Small compact and does everything I needed it to do. Plays movies audio and games for my traveling on planes.
Great built in FM radio you can pause and rewind.
Battery life could be better as it will only last 3 hrs if playing a movie.Sound could be a bit louder, but then I could be deaf :-)
Wish it was a camrea and not a video as it has less use for me.
All in it is a great portable unit.
I-tune is easy used and works well. Shame you cannot link more than one Ipod, this is the stupidity of Apple. the must think we all have a PC just for an Ipod. Not to mention why did Apple make the 6th generation???
The 5th was far better in all ways.

Old dogs and new tricks

You can guess from the title I'm no teenager, but this little device was so easy to use. The most complicated bit is realising the same buttons have different functions depending what is on the screen. Once I made a point of checking the screen it became a doddle. THe headphones could be better, but this is a trivail upgrade, and what is right for me may not be for you, so best judge for yourself.
Most importantly, when comparing this to clones, just look at the buld quality, it's sublime, and I'm no Apple lover. These can be expensive, but not too bad when you factor in quality.
Whilst not part of this review really, I found the hardest part was retraining to use Apple itunes form MS media player. However a couple of eveneing experimenting has me comfortable with the new interface. The big change is having itunes do so much for you when I'm used to looking for the menu option.
If you can make yuorself afford it, go for it, and do't be shy about geting some form of protector for the little beasty. It would be shame to spoil it for the sake of a £3 sock or case.

IPOD NANO 5TH GENERATION REVIEW
Created: 08/05/10
I LOVE ITS COMPACT DESIGN, LOOKS AND ITS CAPACITY OF 4000 SONGS. ITS TRIPLE USES, THROUGH EARPHONES, VIA A PORTABLE DOCK AND USING A PERMANENT DOCK ARE ALL EXCELLENT. THE NEED TO USE THE EARPHONES FOR USING THE RADIO SOMEWHAT RESTICT ITS USE IN A DOCKING UNIT UNLESS OF COURSE THE DOCK HAS ITS OWN AERIAL FACILITY. I FIND THE CAMERA A BIT SUPERFLOUS AND I PROBABLY WONT USE IT. THE NEED FOR ORGANISING THE TRACKS AND CD'S WILL BE A CHALLENGE, BUT OF COURSE NO MORE CO THAN A LARGE LIBRARY OF CD'S. OVERALL I AM MORE THAN SATISFIED WITH MY CHOICE.

There’s no doubt that the iPod nano is the best so far. The design is beautiful, even by Apple’s high standards, and the user interface is as intuitive as it always was. Crossfade is superb, and makes listening on shuffle even more enjoyable, but the nano still lacks some of the features seen on competing devices, like an FM tuner. The nano also looks a little pricey on paper compared to other players, but then no other player is as thin, light and stylish as this one.

The 5th Generation iPod nano is a very neat, user friendly package of great features .....why did it have to change?
The ipod bit is just as you would expect - flawless. The video camera works a treat; the FM radio is the business; the feel of it in your hand is so "just right"; and yet Apple decided to replace it with an unappealing square blob with "touch control" and no personality whatsoever.
I am a huge Apple fan - but this seems a retrograde step. Thank fully the 5th Gen lives on through Ebay, for now.
