Created: 09/03/10
A great buy - best £100 I have spent.
I can honestly say that this is a must have for any music, video, gadget bod out there.
Sync'ed to personal email - wifi enabled - for me its one of those things that just simply works. - thinking of getting an Ipod. Dont bother get a ipodtouch.
e.g I am a bird watcher - got app for 50p that is better than any bird id book you can get. sounds pictures quizzes etc.
I am a scrabble player and crossword buff - app for £1 for dictionary checker specifically for scrabble full thesaurus and online definitions for free.
youtube video converter get all those rare music videos with excellant quality sound for free - i got 100+ music videos - 1000 songs and all my holiday and bird pictures on the thing and its only 1/3 full !
I find 16 gigs fine - given time over woulda got a 32gig or 64gig well worth the extra £50 - £60.
If your thinking about it and you can drop on a ipodtouch for £100 in good condition - get it you wont regret.

Choosing the right ipod touch.
Created: 08/03/10
Right, the ipod touch is apple's latest and greatest ipod. The ipod touch uses a multi-touch screen surface to let you navigate and interact with the apps. Since the interface is multi-touch you may touch the screen in several points at once, this is an important aspect of the ipod touch (itouch for short.) The itouch lets you play virtually any media purchased from apple's app store or itunes. You can playback films, tv shows, podcasts, music, photos, apps, and gain internet access to virtually all website, including youtube and google. The itouch has wifi built into it so you can harness wireless routers on the go, also you can access your email, weather forcasts, news, stockmarket updates and even exchange rates. The itouch also changes its display depending on how you hold it, for example, you can rotate the ipod and hold it horizontally, so that the movie screen takes up most of the screen. This feature also enables alot creativity and variety with apps in the app store. Currently (08/3/2010) there are three generations of ipod touch. 1st generations being the oldest and 3rd generations being the most modern. The generation ipod you get will affect the price, functionability, and memory capacity. 1st gen (generation) and 2nd gen itouchs come in 8gb, 16gb or 32gb memory. Obviously the higher gb ipod you go for, the more you are likely to pay. 1st gen itouchs can only emit sound or music through headphones, however the 2nd and 3rd gen ipods have built in speakers. Also the 2nd and 3rd gen itouchs have volume control buttons on the side. The main differences between the gens is that the more recent gens have more battery life, work faster and have added feature such as microphones in the 3rd gen itouchs. When choosing your ipod touch the main thing you have to think about it how much memory you want and how much you are willing to pay. If you are willing to pay much more the best quality itouchs, the apple store sell brand new 8gb 3rd gen ipod touchs for around £150. However i got 16gb 2nd gen itouch on ebay for £100 in the end, so it's all about how much money you have spare. 1st gen and 2nd gen itouchs dont vary much in price on ebay, so if your looking for a cheap ipod that has a reasonable amount of gb/memory, 1st or 2nd gen itouchs are you best bet. Hope this has helped you, and for more information on the exact differnces between the different generation of ipod touch, you can refer to the apple website.

16GB ipod touch

I never liked the idea of ipod. Id always opted with sony walkman, ipod always seemed like a no brainer, everyone has one and its the obvious choice. And i had used one of the early models a few years back when the ipod video and first range of nanos where new and wasnt impressed with them. However, when my sony walkman broke from water damage, i bought a new sony 16GB, it was a really really bad MP3 player. Awfull would better describe it. So one day whilst i was knocking about in HMV i had a go on an ipod touch and it honestly blew me away. It delivered load and powerfull sound. So i whent looking around, comparing prices and found this 16GB ipod, baragin price so got it. Im massively impressed. Only two downsides. Its second gen, so it doesnt have the built in speakers, which is annoying when i want to watch a video on youtube, i have to plug my headphones in. And, now ive got an ipod touch, its litterally a foot away from an iphone. So now im thinking, i might get an iphone, then that renders this ipod touch useless. But besides that, great.

iPod Touch 2nd generation ( 16GB)

What a clever and useful bit of kit this is. Well thought out and designed by some very clever people. All possible information is at your fingertips via web connection. The applications ( Apps ) that are out there to be downloaded onto the ipod are phenominal. At your fingertips and seconds away are your music downloads, you tube, web browsing, video/film downloads, loads of games.... the list seems endless. The great thing is, I can choose exactly what I want and what is useful for me. It is all to hand in a neat package that just slips into my top pocket. How cool is that ?.

Ipod Touch 16gb is it 2nd or 3rd Generation

Hi,I cannot recommend one of these enough,an awesome piece of kit suitable for any age. They are basically iphones without the phone.Fast with wifi and great with bluetooth, speaker not very loud but it is meant to be a personal player and not for everyone on the street to hear.
When you look for one you will see 1st,2nd,3rd gen which is where you become stuck.Dont,t be fooled by people trying to hike up the price by saying latest generation ie 3rd generation to get more money. The difference between them basically is,1st gen does not have a speaker inbuilt,it also has no volume buttons on the side.Secondly a 2nd generation ipod has the previous built in but only comes in 8gb and 16gb,they then bought out 32gb and 64gb models, these are 3rd generation.Other than this there is no difference apart from the price and the size of memory so shop around and i am sure you will come across some bargains as always on ebay. All my kids have these (4) and they are never off them and because they have wifi it leaves the computer access fully to me.Totally recommend one of these for every household no matter what the age,go get one.
