Apple iPod touch 2nd Generation (8 GB) MP3 Player
Created: 03/09/10
My daughter loves this product as she can now have her music and videos where ever she is and be able to play games watch movies and she can get online while out & about (with out costing me a fortune in credit lol)
I like all the apps you can get on it to help with school work etc.. as well the personal planner to do list calculator there are apps for almost everything its fab and she always knows where she needs to be and when and what she has to do with out my constant reminders (im no longer the personal assistant her new Ipod is)
Money well spent for my 11yr old
Another big bonus is that if anything goes wrong and you do not have your receipt you can just pop into any Apple store and they will help sort it out if its still in guaranty they can tell off the serial number as i recently found out when i updated to the new software and it stopped working (wish i had known earlier though as the back light had gone of) there really helpful and exchanged mine for a new one and updated the software so it was ready to just plug-in and go when i got home

Apple iPod Touch 2nd generation.

I bought this, having been impressed by my sons iTouch phone.
I have hugely enjoyed the creation of my personal playlists of music, and having attached the iTouch to a good quality Hi-Fi active speakers, just how good the little iTouch sounds.
Highlights have been the 'last Fm' free apps download, which allows the continuous play of music in your chosen genre/artist, free- all day....
I have downloaded about 7 of 4 gazillion apps available, and a weight checking download which enabled me to keep a very close check on daily calorie intake over Christmas.
The wi-fi facility is good, but a little slow compared to the iphone, and less mobile , of course. No complaints, build quality is good, and usefulness appears to be boundless. It is a vert tactile bit of gadgetry, that, for once, is as good as the hype.I could house my entire 300 CD collection on this, my sons tell me.....Brilliant - and easy to use.

I bought this product in November 2011, to replace my (somewhat ancient) Ipod nano 1GB. With only enough room for around 500 songs I found the Ipod nano 1GB incapable of providing for my needs. I wanted something that would allow me to listen to music, watch videos, download apps and surf the web. I did not want to spend too much, so instead of opting for the newest generation of the touch I chose to buy a second generation one.
With 8GB you can quite comfortably fit around 1700 songs on your Ipod. It is wifi enabled, allowing you to connect up to the web anywhere where that you have access to the internet, you can watch videos on YouTube, use Facebook, and you have a choice of several thousand apps to download from the appstore.
The only two faults worth mentioning relate to battery life and outdated software limiting the amount of apps you can download.
I tend to use my ipod on a daily basis, using all it's features, and although the touch boasts an impressive 36 hour battery life, I find that it runs out of battery extremely quickly and I have to charge it every day.
In terms of the outdated software, apps that enable you to watch catch up TV (such as ITV Player, Iplayer, 4OD etc) cannot be downloaded. Only the ipod touch third generation and above can support these sorts of apps, so if this is something you require, you are best off purchasing a third generation.
These problems are relatively small however, and there are many positive features to far outweigh the negatives. All in all this is an all round great little gadget that allows you to surf the web via wifi and has a big enough memory space to fit a reasonable amount of apps, videos, music and photos.

he iPod Touch is no longer just a media player, as the "iPod" name suggests; it's a prime representative of Apple's handheld computing platform, supported by a huge (and growing) third-party community. Yet it's controlled entirely by Apple, with Apple deriving revenue from every component — from the initial sale to third-party applications, accessories, licensing and distribution.
Apple's business bonanza aside, buyers get a mobile, networked computer with a revolutionary user interface and a thriving ecosystem of add-ons and software that dramatically increases its value after initial purchase. We've come a long way from the original iPod Touch and its "OS X 1.0" software, which served as an advance scout for something much bigger (like the original Macintosh 128K did).
iPhone OS 2.0, included on every iPod Touch now sold, has really changed the platform, making the original iPod Touch, too, much more useful than it was when purchased. This stands in marked contrast to all other "iPod" models, which are rarely upgraded by Apple and bear no real similarity to the iPhone/iTouch platform.
With OS 3.0 coming in a few months, this platform clearly has a future ahead of it. Like a traditional Mac or PC, it will be useful for more tomorrow than today. That's a huge value (though this may be offset by the need to replace incompatible old accessories).
If you already have the original iPod Touch, the second generation offers a few upgrades — speaker, volume controls, faster CPU, more storage, microphone capability — which may not be enough to justify buying a new iTouch and dealing with the compatibility issues it has with previous accessories. But if you don't own the first generation iPod Touch, and you don't have, or plan to get, an iPhone, this is a great entry into a major platform that is already very useful with a great future ahead.

Ipod Touch 3rd generation

I think that this amazing peice of technology with super fast and super accurate reaction to your fingers is the most revolutionary product on the market (except for the i phone). I like the way that you can buy any type of app to either suit your personal needs (e.g:the app where you can turn off a certian light in the house without being in the room) or apps just for your sheerpleaure such as the cool games etc. Also the volume of the music can go very loud but still be clear at the same time and considering this product is only 8gb,it holds over 1500 songs!plus apps, video, pics and games. The sleek, thin design of the ipod touch makes the gadget more attractive to the eye and makes you want to buy it instead of another brand leader such as sony walkman. Finally, the 2.5 inch screen makes watching videos and viewing pictures very easy and definetely beats most mp3 player screens that support video format. So, if your a gizmo and gadgets fan or you just want to have some fun and also make life better then the Ipod touch 3rd generation is made for you.
