B&W DM601 S2 Main / Stereo Speakers

I only buy B & W speakers Sound is a personal thing and every ear is different, B & W have got everything right for me the 601's have incredible base for such a small speaker they are fantastic in a surround sound setup but can be used as Stereo speakers as well.

I have recently bought some 602's aswell and I have to say there is very little difference between them (both are series 2)

Be careful to check that the speakers have bi-wiring links without them the speakers do not sound good unless you have a power amp, B & W however are very helpful and in some cases will send these out as a goodwill gesture

Very good speakers these. My main speakers are Celestion Ditton 44's and for anyone who knows them you'll know they're a very tough speaker to be compared too. Now i'm not going too say these are better but they are just as entertaining to listen too. Presentation and soundstaging is surprisingly good from a small box. Bass for me was bang on with 'up tempo' stuff. And voices are presented clear and naturally. From Dylan, Dire Straits etc right through to David Guetta, try as i might i really couldn't pick a single fault with these. Ridiculous value especially if compared too a lot of recent £200-£500 bracket 5 star newcomers i was lucky enough too hear at an exhibition recently. Most of them were awfully weak compared to these. So much so that i mentioned to a few people beforehand that i'd be comparing what we were about too hear to 601's2's and one person there who also has a pair of these was in total agreement with me at the end. Gem of a speaker!

Good overall performers, metal tweeter can be incisive some times, lots of bass from the kevlars..., great rockers, but extremes frequencies can hide the mids...Good detail... and good looking
