I had the curve, then the torch - this is a brilliant merge of the too, but one better as its a torch so much easier to type etc...more sturdier in the palm of your hand.
The touch screen is great when combined with access to the full qwerty keyboard, instead of being tucked underneath as per the torch. The Torch became top heavy if you tried to write on the keyboard due to slid up face plate.
The downside to this phone, is battery is very bad..worse i have ever encountered. Due to playing with feature etc, i cannot get through the day without it needing a charge mid afternoon. I am waiting for my additional battery and due docking station so i can charge phone and replacement battery.
The other downside is the cost. But this applies to all these phones when they first come out.
At the momeny a frustrating realisation was that Ebay app is not available on this handset yet...but hope they get to sorting this out asap!
The design is great, its lighter than the other two i have had yet sturdy and secure in the hand. If like me you can type quick - this can enable you to type at speed. The keyboard is well spaced and designed. I love the stainless rim edging..makes it feel likes its more robust and wont end up with unsightly marks during its life use.
Very happy..even with the batter problem. Will just keep to charge the phone and spare battery every night and take the spare with me. Though i really have been dowloading and playing with the apps at the beginning as you do so perhaps with normal use i wont require the spare battery.

Having received the new Blackberry Bold 9900 today I am happy to report that most of the major flaws of the previous Bold family have been fixed. The web browser is snappy and responsive, the touchscreen is easy to use, fluid and a delight (no doubt because of the Snapdragon CPU). The phone is very thin for a Blackberry and the fact that it's got a touchscreen as well is particularly impressive given the brick-like feel of the Torch. The camera is a huge step forward from the camera in my old 9700, however, it still has a way to go to match up to the superior iPhone 4 camera (and most likely the iPhone 5 that is forthcoming). The major strength, as always with Blackberry, is the keyboard which is a return to form. The keyboard is the same size and feel that we had in the old Bold 9000 and it's fantastic!

For Blackberry users, the Bold 9900 is amazing and represents a great deal of engineering and research by RIM to produce a phone that is functional, stylish and a joy to use. For users of iPhone and Android however, RIM has yet to make a phone which is as comprehensive or as forward thinking as iOS and Android are. RIM has a ready made consumer pool for its phones; we all love Blackberrys and I personally wouldn't move to another manufacturer. However, RIM fails to develop phones that will make users want to switch from Android or iOS and that's where the money is. It is my feeling that although the Bold 9900 is a huge step forward, anyone switching from iOS or Android will most likely miss some of the features they've come to know and love in their previous platform.

I highly recommend this phone to anyone with an older Blackberry - get it and you won't look back. For iOS and Android users I'd recommend borrowing a friend's phone to test drive it first because you'll either love Blackberry or think it's antiquated and a touch passé.

Here is my story, nowadays everyone want to buy an Iphone, why ? Is it the best ? Everyone has his opinion. I wanted to try something different than the average. I went so for a blackberry

I've been using this phone for now 1 month. It is a well designed Blackberry with nice chrome finitions that give a luxury look to the phone. Ergonomics of the keyboard is amazing and you should never miss a key. However it is quite loud when you write.

The touch screen is also nice and almost perfect reaction to your fingers. However as blackberry user you'll be more likely to use the mousepad in the middle.

The most negative point is, as far as I am concerned, the low battery capacity, or the high consumption of energy of the phone ! Indeed, even if you cut every single applications the phone lost its battery (10% in 1h30 after fully charged) It is really its weakness and I am quite disapointed about this.

On the other hand you have the higher product in Blackberry Range (after the P 9981 of course) so once you'll find how to use it properly you should be satisfied !
