BlackBerry PlayBook 32GB, Wi-Fi, 7in - Black

Very good hardware. Excellent screen etc. I knew before I bought it that there would be a dearth of apps compared to Android and Apple but on the whole there is quite a good selection and the built in applications are mostly very good indeed, in particular the superb web browser, which has the best implementation of flash that I have come across on a mobile device. It is actually possible to play Scrabble on Facebook, a really severe test which no other mobile gadget has managed to pass. Also the office suite is great. I dock a star simply because there is as yet no native email application but that is on its way. Also an Android emulator should follow which will really enhance the device and surely make it the king of tablets.

The blackberry playbok is a great device for the busy business user, and makes using a blackberry even more useful as the device can link directly into your blackberry.
You can read and respond to your emails, handy for train, plane or car travel.

The device is just the right size to fit in the pocket of a suit jacket, and its slim profile makes it easy to carry at times.

This is a great product that would be a great edition to any sales force, as it is less bulky than a laptop and can still access most of the same features.

The Blackberry Playbook is superb value for money. It is well built, the screen is clear and it is very easy to use. It even comes with HDMI connectivity. If you own a Blackberry smartphone you can tether the playbook to use your phones internet. No need for wires as it does by it's built in Bluetooth connection. I tried this out and I had it connected to my phones 3G internet in a few minutes. It uses a secure bluetooth pin which is reassuring. When you compare the playbook to an ipad it's just as good and better in many respects but a fraction of the cost. The screen is smaller but is similar in size to the new iPad mini.

This BB Tablet really is a fantastic device. It's easy to set up and use and has excellent front and rear cameras and a voice recorder built in. Although there are not as many Apps as for the Ipad, there is more than sufficient for me. I spent over a day reviewing, selecting and loading them and have only scratched the surface of those available. There are many excellent free Apps and others ranging in price from 0.75 to a couple of pounds or in a few cases much more. Even if you paid full price for the 64gb model (around GBP 129) It would still be a bargain. I could see no logical reason (other than brand loyalty) why anyone would opt to pay 3 or 4 times as much for a new Ipad. I was so impressed with this piece of kit that I bought one for my wife a few days after I purchased mine.

I had put off buying a tablet for ages, would I use it?
My wife has an e-book reader and even as a technophobe, loves it. So do I - e-book reader or tablet? Lots of research later and realising I would get bored just reading I stumbled on this less than well loved (it seemed) tablet. No apps too small, Blackberry a minor player, it's not an i-pad!
OK a lot of this is true but is it a problem, NO.

The tablet is sturdily made, solid with a quality feel.
The screen is better than an i-pad 2, it does flash too.
Can you watch catchup tv on an i-pad?

I paid less for this on e-bay than your average Chinese no-name android tablet and that was a great result.

Yes the screen is small (7 inches) but this makes it more portable and more user friendly especially for reading books. In addition it is a great quality screen - just watched Once apon a Time, Channel 5 / Demand 5, on it and the picture was better than my TV!

If you look hard enough you will find most apps you need unless you are very demanding, many of them free.

I am a tech fiend and love this gadget, yes I am and will continue using it, my laptop is now redundant. Unless you want the latest greatest apps this will be a great buy.
